It's a surprise

Stayed here last weekend to see the illuminations and the site was very friendly, clean and easy to find but the noise from the road was very loud and did seem to be almost 24 hours. Think this might stop us returning especially as we had our two young grandchildren. Thank maybe this should be mentioned in the site guide

Improving lcation.

We have avoided Blackpool over last few years after finding the town full of stag and hen parties. This seems to have dies down and the town is far better with a lot of money spent tidying it up. It is not perfect but far batter now The site itself is easy to reach and though not large has plenty of room on most pitches and is flat. Pitches are a mix of grass and hard standing. The road past the site can be noisy at times due to lorries passing working on a nearby building site and care needed when exiting but otherwise no problems. The site was well maintained and the wardens friendly so would be happy to go again.

Illuminating weekend

Just back from 3 nights on this site - we went to see the lights and would stay here for this reason again but probably wouldn't stay for any other reason as it's quite a noisy site and the location isn't great.  The staff are lovely though and it's clean and nice.  There's also a great play area for the children.

Great site for visiting Blackpool and surrounding area

We stayed here on 3rd October and stayed a second night we liked it so much! We were touring the North-East in our small motorhome and found it a lovely quiet site perfectly located for an evening tour of the Blackpool Illuminations. We popped into Blackpool in our motorhome Monday evening and drove up and down the promenade three times - it was fab! Next day we explored Blackpool and Fleetwood and had fish and chips on Blackpool beach. The following day we did a very quick explore of the southern part of the Forest of Bowland before we had to set off for home - but what a lovely area! - we'll back another time to explore this lovely part of the country more. P.S. I've rated 4/5 for families because I have to give a rating but really we cannot comment on this at all as it's just the two of us and we're normally out all day touring and exploring only coming back to our campsite to sleep and shower - sorry!

Road Noise

Site up to normal Caravan Club standards but be warned if staying on pitches 16 to 25 a lot of traffic noise from early in the morning due to newish industrial estate nearby.

Late Night Juveniles

Been to this site several times over the last 3 years , find it excellent for access to Lytham/Blackpool . Site is of the usual C.C standard clean and well kept facility's . The only downside we encountered and i think this was probably just a one off .  We had a group of youngsters who were continually running around the pitches during the day plus kicking a football around on the access roads . Unfortunately this continued into the evening with a group running around shouting and waving torches aloft . This did not abate until 11.15pm . Thankfully they departed the next day and normal tranquil life was restored . Wardens are as stated in previous reviews helpful and friendly . Perhaps they need to be a little more vigilant as to some of the clientele do not respect others privacy .

Very good

Great site and great staff, just a little bit too far from Blackpool and no local pub/restaurant.

Good news and bad news

Hubby and I and our 2 dogs stayed at this site for 5 nights. The site itself is lovely. Nice big pitches. The site is very  flat and  open not too many trees. The toilet block was spotless. The wardens were cheerful and helpful. However - the road noise from the M55 etc., together with a few roaring motorbikes  was constant from 5-6am until around nearly midnight. Normally we experience total peace and quiet where  we stay. The other down site was there is no dog walk which was a shame. It would be nice if it stated in the book or on the web that there was no dog walk. We ourselves will probably not return due to the noise but as I said the site is lovely and very handy for Blackpool and St Annes.

Nice stay

We enjoyed our stay at this site for 5 nights. We had a nice time visiting the attractions of Blackpool and seeing the illuminations.
