Nice spot but pitches need to be zoned more as it was just like being in a large field allike be it on different levels The main issue for us is that the caravan & motorhome club charge you extra for WiFi We've come from boating & all marina's include free WiFi in their mooring fee's! This is only the 2nd time we've used a club site & not sure we'll renew our membership next year because of this factor as so far all the independent sites we've used have offered free WiFi! Come on caravan & motorhome bring your standards up to meet others in this area

Lovely site

This is my second visit to this site this year and I have nothing but praise for the wardens and the site itself If anything I would say the floral display is better that last year when Caroline and team won the award Yes I was there when there was all the problem with the dogs barking and as a dog owner myself saw how little control these owners of their barking dogs had .Try not to let this deter you from visiting this wonderful site and enjoy the beauty that is just outside the gate called the New Forest I can’t wait until I return in September

When are we going to do something about Bad Dog Ow

I have just returned from Black Knowl. It is a super site - MARRED only by the behaviour of BAD DOG OWNERS. Whilst there, our holiday was spoiled by "YAPPING" dogs. I was on pitch 81 and adjacent to us was a site occupied by the owners of 4 dogs. Whenever anybody, with or without dogs, walked past they started up. Unfortunately, the owners did nothing to deter these infuriating animals for disturbing the tranquillity of the site. Every morning they took their little "pack" for a walk, but, they never got past the bank, with the wild flowers, before depositing their bodily waste on the grass. Yes, it was put into poo bags, but, the grass is never left without trace. Around my pitch there were a number of round "yellow signs" of previous dog occupiers who have left their mark for others to enjoy whilst sitting or "Eating" in the open air. Furthermore, a different owner allowed his dog to deposit his excrement on my pitch when he was walking past with his dog on the all familiar "TWENTY FOOT - (2 METRE LEAD)" WHEN IS THE CARAVAN AND MOTOR HOME CLUB GOING TO DO SOMETHING TO REGULATE "DOGS" AND DOG OWNERS WHO BESPOIL OR CLUB SITES and TOTALLY DISREGARD THE RULES. Why does the Club not introduce a limit on the numbers of dogs per caravan and make a charge for each dog with an increasing tariff for each and every extra dog. Notwithstanding, my obvious displeasure with some errant dog owners, I actually like dogs and enjoy seeing them around. Finally Black Knowl site is a real credit to the site staff and the Club in general. Well done to all the Site Staff!

Comment from the Club:

We are sorry to read you had concerns about dogs on site during your stay. Please be advised that if you speak to the site staff they will do their utmost to help and speak to dog owners if needed. As per our community guidelines we do ask that reviews are of the Club Site rather than complaints, as such please can you email your concerns to the Club UKSitesBookingService@camc.com as the relevant team will be able to review your feedback. Many thanks.

Barking dogs

Outstanding site but totally ruined by persistent barking dogs (mostly groups of small terriers) with owners who do not seem to care about the noise.

A bit of heaven in the New Forest

What a fantastic site, it's location would be hard to beat, unless you do not like the countryside. We were in our element, with ponies and foals within walking distance and a wonderful foot path laid out right to the village. The village has everything you could need. The staff were friendly and helpful and we felt very 'at home'.

Great Location

Location, excellent, facilities, excellent, Wardens, very good and the site is beautifully kept, BUT, pitch choice is everything here, get it wrong and you're staring at a sea of caravans which is not a pretty site. Just had 15 nights here which we enjoyed mainly due to our pitch from which we did not have to look at the majority of the 126 other caravans on site. I would echo the sentiments of other reviewers as we too seemed plagued throughout our stay by barking dogs which only added to the feeling that we were on a down market housing estate, why do dog owners think it's OK for their dogs to bark every time another dog walker goes by, the solution is simple, if your dog won't shut up put it in the caravan. I also find it incomprehensible that dog owners still exercise their dogs on site, for goodness sake there's 219 square miles of the New Forest National Park right outside the gate!!

Great Site!

This is a wonderful site in a fantastic location. The Wardens keep this site clean and very tidy. The first thing you notice is the magnificent display of flowers on your arrival. The Wardens are cheerful and very helpful and very welcoming. The site is great for walking and cycling in the forest. Brockenhurst is a 30 minute walk away and you can cycle ( some on the forest roads). Brockenhurst has many small stores and a Tesco and Sainsbury's ( small) with a great bakery, butchers and greengrocer also a great Ironmonger plus a pharmacy , post office and many other independent stores. The station is 40 minutes walk ( you can park ) not easy for big Motorhomers. You can get taxis from the site. You can hire bikes in the village. We visited the Isle of Wight, Exbury Gardens and did lots of cycling on the forest paths. For children there isn't a play area (the Centenary Site has a big play area for all ages.)However just outside the site is the forest and a short walk away is the river ( for paddling). The forest has lots of ponies, horses and deer and rare breeds of cattle. So lots for children to enjoy. The site is very popular with owners with dogs as it is a great location to walk them. We have visited this site for many years ( with caravans and a Motorhome) and always enjoy our stay.

Lovely site pity about noisey dogs and children

Lovely site ,the facilities were excellent , the wardens friendly. There were a couple of things that spoilt the site, dogs barking for no apparent reason, children being allowed to run wild. Both of these problems were down to no control by the owners/parents. Next big grouse is the total disregard for privacy by some campers, old and young cutting through between pitches.

Very busy - Great location - Tightly packed - Good overnighter.

We stayed at this site for just one night in the middle of June 2019. The site is in a perfect location, right next to the New Forest. The toilet block is kept clean and the site itself is clean and tidy. The thing that drew us to this site was the ferry at Lymington for the Isle of Wight. Like many others, we were staying one night before sailing or one night after sailing and there is a lot of movement on the site. On arrival, we were given the choice of 4 pitches, all of which were grass. We are a heavy unit and so we tend to avoid pitching on grass whenever possible. The site has a lot of pitches and they are crammed into every space possible. When the site is so full it is difficult to navigate your way around as the pitch pegs cannot be seen to help you on the site map. We found a pitch but were very aware of our neighbours being so close. Had we been staying for longer we would have been disappointed as we did not feel that we could sit outside in any privacy. The site suited our purpose as an overnighter though. There was a chip van that visited on the night that we were there and we gave them a try. They were okay, but not impressive.

Beautiful location

First time in the New Forest and what a delight! The site gives immediate access to the woods and heathlands which are a feature of this area. The facilities at the site are first class kept immaculate by the friendly, hardworking wardens. It’s a popular busy site and pitches in some areas are close together with privacy being an issue at times. On arrival, we had a choice of 2 pitches only and fortunately one was a grass pitch at the back of the site with plenty space between vans. Barking dogs were an issue and I agree with the previous reviewer, people constantly walked through pitches although we were not personally affected because of our position at the rear of the site. We loved exploring this area with great walks and coastal towns to visit. Will return.
