This time we stayed longer

We have visited this site on a number of occasions using the ferry pitches for an overnight before or after the Channel Tunnel. Each time we have told ourselves that we should come back to visit properly. I am glad we finally did so, staying in the "paddock" in the site proper rather than the ferry pitches near the entrance. The site was quite full and the hardstandings available were mainly in the shade, fine for the hot summer we have had, but not so good for September, so we pitched on a grass pitch, which was reasonably flat and very spacious. The facilities at this end are just as clean as the ferry pitches, but are looking a little tired and could do with refurbishment in the next few years, That said, no complaints at all, plenty of hot water for showers, washing and washing up. We did not use the laundry area but it looked useful. From the site it is a right turn to go down to the tunnel, and the M20/A20 for Folkestone & Dover, left for a 20/25 minute drive to the park and ride at Canterbury or to the Eastern coast for Margate, Broadstairs or Whitstable. All in all an excellent site for short break, not just a ferry/tunnel overnighter.
