Stop on way to France
Like others, it is disappointing to note that building work still blights this site which is a pity as it is a lovely stop for one night or an even longer stop to/from the continent. That said, you cannot fault the Wardens who very helpfully directed me to a local caravan dealer to enable me to replace a broken towing mirror which some brain dead white van man took out in Hythe trying to force his way past me when it was not his right of way due to parked vehicles.
We were dead unlucky as at the conclusion of our stay at Black Horse Farm, we caught the huge backlog caused by the French Border security checks. Having found that the A20 was solid, we double backed through Densole and onto the A2 and eventually after some five hours, got onto a P&O ferry. This has somewhat soured our holiday as it is so much hassle after a long journey when this sort of thing happens. If we go abroad again, it is likely to be via Portsmouth as this is now the third time that I have had problems getting through Dover.
