Great stop over on way to France
This ticked most boxes for us. We stopped for one night each way to France on the ferry crossing. The first night we were on a ‘ferry pitch’ which are generally nearer the entrance. The closest toilet block to this is near the reception and is more basic but does the job. We were woken too early by some unsociable caravanners who left the engine of their Porsche 4x4 running for ages whilst attempting to hook up to get away at 6am.
The staff are good at allocating the ferry pitches depending on crossing time to reduce the noise of moving off site.
Our return stop over was fab. A ‘standard pitch’ that was much quieter as we were in no desperate rush to get going. This pitch was closer to the lower toilet block, which was more updated with better showers etc..
Overall, a great place to spend a night or two before moving on, and as others have said, 15 mins to tunnel terminal and 20 mins to ferry terminal. You can’t get much more convenient than this without traffic noise!
Personally, we (a family of 4) wouldn’t stay for more than 2 nights at one visit. But, no complaints as a stop over
