Black Horse Farm at Christmas

We have stayed at this site on a number of occasions now when we come down to Kent to visit family. Its location and the fact it's open all year make it ideal for us. This year, our visit spanned Christmas so that there were plenty of empty pitches to choose from. The peace and quiet were only disturbed by somebody on land adjacent to the site repeatedly discharging a firearm from shortly after 7 in the morning. Presumably this would be a farmer or maybe the MOD which has ground nearby. Either way, there's nothing the club could do about it. Our only real disappointment was the result of a lot of rain prior to our arrival and on one night whilst we were there that our pitch flooded. Because of the lack of pressure on pitches, we were able to sneak onto the pitch across from ours till morning, by which time the flood had disappeared into the chalk subsoil. Sadly, the same couldn't be said for the dog walk which was unusually muddy. Fortunately, the wardens were fairly happy for dogs to be walked on leads around the rest of the site. We never used the onsite facilities so we can't comment on them other than to say that we enjoyed observing a good number of our fellow caravanners making the journey to the shower block in the wind rain and frost whilst we took full advantage of the onboard facilities in our cosy motorhome. We'll be back again as I am sure most other visitors will.
