It is possible that I see this site through rose tinted spectacles, I spent most of my childhood around this area on holidays with my parents and have a lot of fond memories. I am not sure how many times we have stayed at this site, but it is always a pleasure. This year was no exception. The wardens were at their usual best, polite, efficient and welcoming. The lower toilet block is getting a little tired but cleaned to the expected standard. The construction works did not cause any interference. The ramps/trunking across the access/egress road are plainly visible and if you allow you engine idle revs. to move your unit and not a heavy right foot there is not a problem. The ferry pitches seem to have been extended to other pitches, I assume because of the construction works. This is the reason that I have marked the site down for peace & quiet, why is it that units sited around me for one night all had 20+ external lockers and all had to be slammed shut at least twice each. Yes I know, maybe a slight exaggeration but please have a little respect. All in all a great week spent in my comfort zone, visiting places and friends. I fully expect to return.
