Watch the dolphins play
Amazing views helped to make our stay very enjoyable, the main event was watching the dolphins -or harbour porpoises playing around a boat at the entrance to the harbour. We saw them three days in a row as the tide turned in the evenings. Watching some people fishing in the mouth of the river using large nets and rowing boats was also superb, the salmon they netted were huge. sitting outside the van watching the views will entice us back. A day trip to Holy Island was disappointing, the journey was good with spectacular scenery but the island has become very commercialised. Another trip to the nature reserve at St Abbs head was well worth the short journey north.
We found the site well laid out, the staff very friendly and helpful, the pitch was perfect. The showers were clean but I did have to queue on a morning. We didn’t have children so I can’t comment about it’s suitability but for two ‘mature’ adults it was perfect.
The local Chinese (Lees) delivered to the site and the food was really good. The queens head in Berwick was also good.
