Good for families

Very pleasantly surprised

Having booked 7 nights here we were a little anxious as some of the reviews were quite negative. Good things: Welcome and cleanliness (although that is a bit of a given). Facilities. Some people have said they are old and tired but they functioned very well, piping hot water, and never a queue (so obviously sufficient number). I reckon we were the furthest away-maybe 200 yards-but that really wasn't a problem, clearly there is no pleasing some people. Pitch-our motorhome is 7.6m, there was plenty of room for it and our hire car. The views-to die for, the constantly changing vista of the Tweed estuary. Spittal beach is magnificent. So much to do within an hour's drive, there isn't room to list them all hear. Less Good: Yes the trains are a bit annoying, but really only around breakfast time-I can tell you all of the train times between 06.00-08.00! i can say categorically that the trains would not stop me coming back again. In fact we used them-the service from Berwick is excellent for Newcastle, Edinburgh etc. Irrelevant: Comments about the 'council' estate. Ok you can see a few rooves to the front but the walk down to the promenade is quite charming. Those the other side of the railway are barely visible. I have been on a lot worse sites in regards to neighborhoods in posher places. We will be back!
