Good for families

Nice site, friendly staff, walkable access to Berwick-Upon-Tweed, easy access to Holy Island etc

Our second CAMC site, where we stayed for two nights so that we could see Warkworth Castle (enroute from Old Hartley site near Whitley Bay), Seahouses, the Farne islands and Holy Island. This site is quite close to many great places, including the above and Bamburgh which we sadly missed this time. We'll come again. The site is a wide site on the hill, with views over the sea and/or Berwick town for various pitches. Staff very friendly, shower block spotless, and nice clean Elsan area. Right on the edge of Scotland, Edinburgh is only a day trip away at 60 miles. I knocked the Peace and Quiet down a peg as the train line runs very close to the site and there's a fair few trains late/early, not that it stopped us sleeping. I knocked the location down a peg as whilst it's easy to get to attractions there's nothing really in the area. We might be slow walkers perhaps but the '20 minute walk' into town took 40, and this may not suit everyone.
