wonderful views
Just returned from a week at Seaview. It was our first visit to Berwick on Tweed and we shall certainly return. The site is very easy to find (even from the south - see previous review) and is laid out on a series of terraces, the view over the estuary and the town is brilliant from all the terraces and we spent lots of time enjoying the changing tides and views.
There have been comments about the amount of space between pitches across the paths and due to the terraces you have to be a little bit more careful when manouvering into and out of the pitches but it is not a problem. Also we were worried about the comments on the railway line but although we were on the top terrace just below the railway it was not a problem and after a couple of hours you didn't even notice a train passing.
Helpful, hardworking wardens, the site was clean and tidy at all times. The facilities were great, even though there is only one toilet block there are plenty of cubicles to cover busy times. the weather was cold and windy for a couple of days and it was wonderful to go into the warm toilet block (almost felt like moving in).
Berwick is a lovely historic town, walking the walls, visiting the museums, shopping in many independent unique shops kept us close to home for most of the week but the rest of the Northumberland coast is worth a visit. There is a vast sandy beach within 5 minutes walk which our dog loved (very dog friendly area). Also there is an interesting hour long walk around the historic Spittal point led by a local guide Rene which I would recommend, she was fascinating. A lovely holiday
