Tweed Estuary Views
This terraced site is strung along a hillside next to the East Coast main line railways on the opposite bank of the Tweed to Berwick. It is a long site and not particularly wide so units could seem less spaced out than other Club site. There is one toilet block of a good standard but it is a long way from some pitches. Interestingly there are two motorhome service points, both with open grids for waste water disposal. We were at the far end of the site and close to the railway. Without doubt there is noise from the railways but it is quite fleeting and the frequency of trains does not make it a constant annoyance and they don't seem to go on through the night which is a bonus. In a strange way I found the trains passing the site quite comforting, but then I am a bit of a train enthusiast! The views from the pitching areas of this site are quite stunning not only of the Estuary but also back towards Berwick especially when the evening sun glints of the buildings of the town. The B1 bus stops outside the site and takes you into Berwick. You can walk from the site, reception will give you details, into Berwick. You can also walk down to the Estuary at Spittal where you get views back at the town and the site. For food shopping there is an ASDA not far from the site and on the B1 bus route.
