This must be one of the best sites on which we have stayed, for the following reasons: 1. Splendid views over the mouth of the Tweed and the North Sea. 2. Easy close access to Borders countryside and towns, and to places of interest, e.g. Lindisfarne. 3. Berwick (half hour walk) has lots of interest, especially historically. We also went to a great gig at the Maltings Arts Centre. 4. Spittal Village itself was surprising - sea front with old-fashioned promenade, and, If you take the time to find out, it also has an fascinating industrial history. 5. Helpful and efficient wardens - our thanks to them. 6. Excellent well kept facilities. 7. To us, the trains were not a problem, but more a source of interest.
