Lovely site, quirky location

This was our second stay at Seaview because we really like it. It may not appeal to everyone as the location, on the face of it isn't the most appealing. The site is actually in Spittal, not Berwick and is right next to the East Coast Main line. Plus it sits between old Spittal and a newer housing estate. Trains run all day but the noise of the trains has never bothered us. Most pitches have a view over the Tweed estuary and we were lucky enough to see dolphins playing in the sea. Spittal (and Berwick) speak of faded glory. Spittal was once quite industrial but was also a seaside Spa. (Search for some elaborate houses). There is a 1930's promenade and a lovely beach which is perfect for evening dog walks. Berwick itself is about a 20 minute walk from the site. I recommend getting away from the main street and walking around the old town walls, or follow the Lowry trail to see some of the hidden gems of this historic town. The site itself is a good location for exploring Northumberland and the borders. Avoid Lindesfarne during summer holidays however as its what too busy! Edinburgh is about 45min on the train, making a day trip quite possible. As always, the wardens were great and the facilities spotless.
