This site is in a great location being within a 30 minute level walk into Berwick and a five minute walk to Spittal beach. The site is easy to get to and most pitches have a nice sea view. However, it is more akin to a caravan housing estate with, in my opinion, too many pitches. A sea of caravans and motorhomes, especially at the back of the site. It is a noisy site backing onto the mainline railway. If your pitch happens to be at the back of the site, the trains pass by just the other side of a stone wall. The express trains pass quickly but the freight ones less so. No mention of this is made in the C&MC handbook as far as I could see. We found a pitch roughly central, and so were fairly close to the only toilet block. If you were at either end however, it is some distance away. The fresh water, grey water and chemical toilet disposal points were also a bit scarce, and could have been added to and better located for everyone. Again, we were lucky to be relatively close. The laundry was problematic as the washing machine was faulty, despite a repair earlier that week, and the light failed to come on in the room itself. The room has no other natural light. The wardens were all very friendly and helpful and I would not be critical of them at all. Members will return to this site no doubt, because of its stunning location. However it does have some significant faults.
