Good for Visit to Berwick
The handbook and website comments regarding site entrance should be heeded. The single width sloping entrance road has very limited space for units waiting to book in. Perhaps the club should allocate pitches on this site to alleviate rush to get to site early. This would avoid queuing outside the site entrance, followed by the sometimes rather unseemly scramble and mayhem on site in the rush for pitches.
We fortunately arrived on a quiet day, the wardens were friendly, helpful and efficient. The site was fairly full so the warden highlighted 2-3 pitches on our site map that would be suitable for our outfit. This is not a site to drive around endlessly looking for the perfect pitch, it has slopping corners, tight bends and cull-de-sacs that may be difficult to reverse out of. The site roads are narrow and because the pitch sizes are small there is not very much room to manoeuvre onto a lot of the pitches. The club probably first owned this site when outfits were half the size, judging by the black and white photographs in reception.
The site itself is nice enough and in a very good location for visits to Berwick. It is a safe and fairly easy walk into the town. However we felt it would not be the ideal pace for those just wanting to sit outside and relax.
