Good for families

Be aware, peaceful it is not!

We have just had the mis-fortune to stay on this site, and despite the wonderful photos on the booking site, all is not what it seems. Not all the pitches afford wonderful views, and the site is blighted by the mainline London to Edinburgh train line running passed it. The row of pitches at the top far end are not fit for purpose, with only a leylandii separating us from the frequent trains causing our motorhome to shake, not a wink of sleep did we get which was disappointing given the long journey from the highlands to get there. However credit where it's due, the site was clean and tidy but the front office was closed at 10am peak checkout time, perhaps this was to avoid any complaints! I'm very quick to compliment, and therefore saddened to have to write a negative review. I suggest that if booking, you might phone ahead and request a better front line pitch, also 1 night is more than enough, with very few local facilities.

That’s strange as I recall being at the very top of the site sheltered from the train noise by a high granite(?) wall and can honestly say we were not disturbed at all. πŸ€”

Don’t forget the nearby supermarket in terms of local facilities or the town or the beach area. πŸ‘πŸ»

We have stayed up against the granite wall twice. Can't say the trains bothered me either. Last time on site the Flying Scotsman came by. laughing

I don't recall being short of local facilities.

It is difficult to recognise the site as Berwick Seaview. We have visited several times and had pitches against the wall and not found it noisy. Most of the trains are electric and particularly going down hill (north) don't make much at all. Apart from the fact you can't request a specific pitch, those front line ones are length limited, so it will depend on what van you have wether you are allowed to use them.

As to local facilities they are in abundance. A beach, Asda and M&S within walking distance. Plus a very good fishmonger. The town of Berwick isn't a bad walk, depending on fitness, or there is a bus from the gate.

Everyone has their own preferences but personally Seaview is a favourite site which we visit several times a year. The top tier overlooking the football field has our preferred view and backs onto the stone wall which actually helps screen the sound from the railway. We haven't found it a problem and have never been woken up in the night, even with roof lights open in summer. Didn't think many trains ran in the night though, just the odd goods train. As for shaking, I can't say the earth has ever moved for me while staying there. . .
