Usual CAMC quality, great views, very expensive. We stayed here for 4 days and had a perfectly good time BUT it was not as good as the CL we’d spent the previous 4 days in for a third of the price!
We stopped here for one night on our way back from Scotland. The facilities were very clean and well maintained with plenty of them. It was a downhill stroll to the beaches but not a problem unless you have mobility issues. We couldn't find a chip shop nearby but probably more down to our use of Google than location.
There were no dog walks marked on the map which could be helpful although there is a large grassed area as you enter the site. We weren't sure if we could use this or not.
Laundry facilities were good and we did make use of them.
As always the team were friendly and looked after the site well.
The warden team do a wonderful job of keeping the facilities clean and tidy.
The location offers superb views over the Tweed Estuary and the bridges over the river. The sea is a short walk away, with Berwick a 15 - 20 minute stroll. Berwick has suffered with many small, independent shops closed, but there are still plenty of others as well as the usual chains and supermarkets. Lots of history in the town, with the old walls and barracks.
There is a railway mainline running behind the boundary wall, but we did not find the noise of the trains to be intrusive, since they’re mainly electric with only a small number of diesels and freight trains.
We have now stayed twice in Berwick and will return.
The site is well maintained & facilities are clean, however, the location is disappointing, located between a housing estate & busy railway line to the rear and a run down promenade at the front, none of which are apparent in the site description or photos.
There's a pleasant walk around the walls of the town but the description of Berwick as lively is way off the mark, unless you're a fan of charity shops and empty shops, of which there are many.
Amazing views helped to make our stay very enjoyable, the main event was watching the dolphins -or harbour porpoises playing around a boat at the entrance to the harbour. We saw them three days in a row as the tide turned in the evenings. Watching some people fishing in the mouth of the river using large nets and rowing boats was also superb, the salmon they netted were huge. sitting outside the van watching the views will entice us back. A day trip to Holy Island was disappointing, the journey was good with spectacular scenery but the island has become very commercialised. Another trip to the nature reserve at St Abbs head was well worth the short journey north.
We found the site well laid out, the staff very friendly and helpful, the pitch was perfect. The showers were clean but I did have to queue on a morning. We didn’t have children so I can’t comment about it’s suitability but for two ‘mature’ adults it was perfect.
The local Chinese (Lees) delivered to the site and the food was really good. The queens head in Berwick was also good.
Nice clean, well managed site and friendly wardens. Smooth check-in service. Very convenient for the bus into Berwick if you don't fancy walking. Good location for visiting Lindisfarne, Alnwick and Bamburgh Castles. Railway runs along the back of the site, but this was only noticeable during the day. Note, some of the pitches are very short.
The position of the site is its main attraction. Fairly close into Berwick, lovely views from most pitches, and close to the England Coast Path. Which makes it ideal to explore from on foot, or using a bicycle. But cycling is better offroad due to the busy A1 being only a short distance to the west so the area available on road is greatly restricted unless the A1 is crossed. On foot - running or walking (or offroad cycling, subject to stopping to open and close gates) - there is huge scope, and exploring the England Coast Path in both directions is a must. As is seeing the town centre. Although the facilities are a little cramped and dated it is a lovely site with friendly helpful wardens.
Nice site. But like a lot of clubsites it is dated and facilities are tired. It is however really well looked after and the team are really friendly and welcoming. WIFI is a MASSIVE problem as it is on all the clubsites i have been on in the last 3 months. The location is great with a supermarket, M&S food and other shops within walking distance. There is a pub called the Albion just outside the site gates. Berwick is a 15 min walk away and is a great town with good eating and drinking places. Most are dog friendly. Personally i would not be put off by the proximity to the railway line. We were at the side of it and it really didnt bother us. We enjoyed our stay. We visited Holy Island and Bamborough Castle, both fairly close by. We would revisit the site and a really good stop off if you were heading north or south on the A1. Access is good but be careful on entry/exit as there is a dip in the road causing me to scrape the bottom of my caravan.
We really enjoyed staying at the Seaview site. Its extremely clean and well organised, as expected from a club site. Nice to receive a warm and jolly welcome as well. We did enjoy the view from our pitch over the sea and having the beach so close (5 min walk) was wonderful; our dog especially loved it. You can walk round the beach to Spittal, where there is a good cafe/ice cream place.
There is no dog walk, but not needed as beach is so close.
There is loads to do in the area and we enjoyed taking a pleasant stroll into the town; ate a really nice meal at The Granary and enjoyed walking round the town walls and along to the lighthouse.
This site is in a Brilliant location.
Previous reviews mention the trains, yes they do run along the back of the site; but these did not bother us, just got used to them I guess! Site still felt peaceful!
We were not expecting the sight to be right under a busy railway line, the ran very late so if you are at the back of the sight it is hard to sleep.
Area is pretty run down so don't expect to get on a nice beach from the site. Site is clean and well kept but is on a steep slope
