3 Nights 26 April 2019
This was stop 2 on our multi-stop tour from Lincolnshire to Scotland (and back) with three nights here after an easy two hour drive from a stopover at Durham Grange.
This is a favourite site that we visit regularly. The (new to us) wardens gave us a cheery welcome and advised us which pitches were still available. Many of the pitches have really stunning views out to sea over the Tweed estuary and if you're lucky you can spot dolphins leaping as they pass by. If you don't see the dolphins you will most certainly see lots of bunnies around the site, there are so many it's like meeting the cast of Watership Down!
The site has a central toilet/shower block which is well maintained to usual club standards by the wardens. Berwick is a comfortable 20 minutes walk or catch the bus from the stop outside the site. There are some nice walks along the nearby Spittal beach (dog friendly) or around the Berwick town walls. The coastline has lots of picturesque places worth visiting and inland there are many interesting places to explore.
Summary: A lovely well maintained site to stay at for exploring Northumberland and the Scottish borders.
Next stop: Strathclyde Park.
