Dog walk

The site is lovely but the dog walk basic and other near alternatives involve walking and crossing a very busy road. There is an excellent park, called Mote Park, a short drive away from the site where dogs can walk freely without their leads. The car park has no barriers so Motorhomes can drive in and it is pay and display £1 for up to 6 hours. 450 acres of beautiful scenery, a lake, house and cafes so well worth a visit.

Objective

Let's start by stating the wardens were helpful and friendly, however when I book this site I stated two adults only. On arrival our pitch had been allocated to us. Our pitch been immediately adjacent to the children's play area and surrounded by families with yet more children. Weekend was spent being subjected to stone throwing, ball kicking, music playing late into the night. The only good thing about the noisy kids was they drowned out the motorway noise. Probably one of the most stressful weekends ever. Cannot find fault with the grounds and facilities however not the site for a peaceful and relaxing break. Would suit families with children.

SPOTLESS

This is a lovely site and due credit must go to the wardens for keeping everything spotlessly clean and tidy. There is a small amount of traffic noise from the nearby M20 but it wasn't too intrusive. We stayed for a week-visiting Leeds Castle, Chartwell House, and Chatham Historic Dockyard for their 1940s themed weekend (highly recommended). Overall a very pleasant stay.

Weekend in Kent

We spent three nights at this site. The facilities are kept very clean and tidy. The wardens are very helpful and friendly (as usual). The site is not large but is well laid out and no pitches are too far from the facilities block. It is a mix of hard standings and grass. We were on grass but as it had not rained recently the ground was very dry and firm. Some of the pitches have a slight slope but not enough to cause any problems. A fish and chip van visits on a Friday evening and the portions are very generous. There is a bus stop outside the site and the buses run every hour into Maidstone from where you can connect to various destinations. There is a small Tesco store within about twenty five minutes walk as well as a fish and chip shop and a pub a little further on. The site has a children's playground and I think it would be an ideal choice for families. We were told that Leeds Castle is within walking distance but at least some of the walk would be on a busy road although there is a designated walkway. We will definitely be considering returning to this site.

Central Kent

We had a lovely week at this site. We enjoy walking and did a nice 10 mile walk direct from the site with a mile of road walking to start. we found that we were able to visit places around Kent and none over an hours drive away we found it very central. We are going to return again and would be happy to recommend this site to friends. there is a little road noise from the M20 but we did not find it a problem and that is why we ratted it a 2 for Peace and quiet.

Ideal for Channel Crossings

Stayed for one night in August on way to the Channel Tunnel. Convenient to the motorway and 30 minutes from the Tunnel. Picturesque setting and facilities are up to the usual Caravan Club high standards. Some motorway noise can be heard but not a great problem, especially for a single night.

Lovely site

Only stayed here for 1 night on return from France, easy access from motorway and friendly wardens. Only gave 3 for facilities and cleanliness as we never use the facilities on site but they certainly appeared clean and tidy as was the rest of the site. We were there on a Friday so were lucky enough to sample the fish and chips, which were delicious. We will certainly visit this site again as there seems a lot to do in the area

Faultless!

From arrival to departure everything was wonderful. Wardens were welcoming and keep the site spotless. Nice small site but plenty of space and nicely set out. Some road noise but nothing to worry about (and we live in a very quiet area so not use to traffic noise at all). As someone who does not like bugs I was delighted to see bug screens in the toilet block!! Great location for site seeing- will definitely return.
