Map showing campsite location

Bristol’s Clean Air Zone is active and includes Cumberland Road. Click here for more information.

Please do not rely on a Sat Nav as they often direct you along roads unsuitable for towing through Bristol City.

From M4 and M32:

At the end of the M32 continue onto A4032. Prepare to turn left and follow signs towards Temple Meads Railway Station. Bear left to Temple Meads onto A4044. Go through the underpass continuing to follow signs to Temple Meads Station. Go straight on through Temple Gate. Now follow the brown tourist signs for SS Great Britain just after Temple Meads Station (on left) and, at the large roundabout, take the 2nd exit into the A370 (York Road). Continue along the A370 with the river on your right. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit towards SS Great Britain (onto Commercial Road). The river will be on your left. At the mini roundabout take the 1st exit and follow the river onto Cumberland Road. You can pass through Cumberland Road Bus gate when travelling this direction to site with no fine penalty. The site entrance is about 0.5 mile on your right.

From J18 of M5:

Follow A4 Portway towards Bristol and the Airport. In about 5-miles (after passing under Clifton Suspension Bridge) keep in the left lane and follow signs to Historic Harbour and SS Great Britain into Hotwells Road. Keep in the right lane at traffic lights through Hotwells (signed for Historic Harbour, SS Gt Britain). Use the left lane, pass over the dock bridge following signs for SS Gt Britain. Site is on the left in about 0.25 miles.

Note: no vehicles (inc caravan/motorhomes) are permitted to wait along Cumberland Road so please time your arrival for no earlier than 1pm.

Important:- Please plan your departure route. When departing the site ONLY turn right out of site and follow Cumberland Road in a westerly direction. Follow road signs towards the A370 (The South West), A4 (Avonmouth) or the M4 and M5. Penalty fines apply if you enter the Bus Gate heading East (turning left out of the site).

Final visit

So sad after leaving today knowing the site will be closing for good at the weekend. This is the best club location in the entire network and we will miss visiting so much. The wardens are lovely, this trip they were incredibly helpful with a medical emergency. Thank you.

A site that will be missed!!

As many reviews state, another customer who is sad to see this site close. We have visited 3 times in the past, May 2024 was the last and it's been a brilliant stay every time . Its madness to me and the trees , a little green oasis for banners.

Heartbreaking 💔

This site is an absolute gem & we are disgusted that the council has sold this land off cheap to developers. 70 trees will be destroyed & the whole asset lost for a few more luxury flats … We stayed on this site about 6 years ago & we then moved... Show more

Gutted!!

We have visited a quite a few times in the last couple of years - each time was potentially our 'last' visit but sadly, this time was definitely the last as it's closing down next month to make way for 160 flats. We visited Bristol to do the Wallace... Show more

What a loss

Fabulous site right in the middle of Bristol. I was there for the Harbour Festival and the location couldn't have been better. And it's perfect for for the regular Sunday morning open water swim right outside the site. Friendly and helpful site managers, I hope they'll stay with the CAMC.... Show more
