Baltic Wharf Club Campsite is a waterside haven, located right in the heart of Bristol's beautifully re-developed dockland and close to the city centre with its lively shops and entertainment. For families staying at the campsite, great attractions include the Downs Park: a cosy and safe place for young children to play and also an ideal picnic spot.
Many excellent cycle paths can be easily accessed from Baltic Wharf Club Campsite, including the Bristol to Bath path if you are feeling particularly energetic and adventurous. A selection of boat trips are available from the campsite, which makes for an excellent way to take in some of the most scenic views in this part of the county.

From M4 and M32:
At the end of the M32 continue onto A4032. Prepare to turn left and follow signs towards Temple Meads Railway Station. Bear left to Temple Meads onto A4044. Go through the underpass continuing to follow signs to Temple Meads Station. Go straight on through Temple Gate. Now follow the brown tourist signs for SS Great Britain just after Temple Meads Station (on left) and, at the large roundabout, take the 3rd exit into the A370. Continue along the A370 with the river on your left. At the roundabout take the 4th exit towards SS Great Britain (onto Commercial Road). The river will still be on your left. At the mini roundabout take the 1st exit and follow the river onto Cumberland Road. You can pass through Cumberland Road Bus gate when travelling this direction to site with no fine penalty. The site entrance is about 0.5 mile on your right.
From J18 of M5:
Follow A4 Portway towards Bristol and the Airport. In about 5-miles (after passing under Clifton Suspension Bridge) keep in the left lane and follow signs to Historic Harbour and SS Great Britain into Hotwells Road. Keep in the right lane at traffic lights through Hotwells (signed for Historic Harbour, SS Gt Britain). Use the left lane, pass over the dock bridge following signs for SS Gt Britain. Site is on the left in about 0.25 miles.
Note: no vehicles (inc caravan/motorhomes) are permitted to wait along Cumberland Road so please time your arrival for no earlier than 1pm.
Important:- Please plan your departure route. When departing the site ONLY turn right out of site and follow Cumberland Road in a westerly direction. Follow road signs towards the A370 (The South West), A4 (Avonmouth) or the M4 and M5. Penalty fines apply if you enter the Bus Gate heading East (turning left out of the site).

This is our 2nd visit here and we love this site, such a shame it's closing as we really enjoy Bristol. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the site is very well maintained but be aware of the greedy seagulls!!

We are so sad to know that Baltic wharf is going to close. It is such a perfectly positioned site. I doubt that we'll ever go to Bristol once it's gone!😢

Perfectly situated for visiting the City centre, served by regular bus routes and water ferrys , close to public houses, Underfall Yard and cafe. The site is in need of upgrade but due to its pending closure understandably the cost would not be viable , it still remains our favourite site... Show more

Baltic Whalf is the best site by far, and the location and site facilities are excellent beyond excellent. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. Why oh why the site has to close due to the council selling the land for houses, is beyond my thoughts.... Show more
