Our First Trip To Balbirnie Park
We have just returned from our first visit to Balbirnie Park Caravan Club Site which consisted of four nights.
The park is set in a small country park just outside the village of Markinch in Fife. The location is superb as it gives you easy access for most places in the Fife area and not too far from Edinburgh too.
The village of Markinch itself has some shops which includes a Co-op, a Chinese takeaway and some pub's. There is also a train station in Markinch with services as far north as Aberdeen and as south as Edinburgh. We used the train for a day out and some lunch in Kirkcaldy. St Andrews is about a half hour drive from the park. Be sure to call into Anstruther on the way for some of the famous fish and chip's. Glenrothes is about two miles from the park where you will find an Asda, Aldis, B&M, Morrisons, McDonalds with other food takeaways and shop's also.
The park itself is very well kept and whilst we where there was very quiet and relaxing. The toilets of course like all Caravan Club Sites where spotless and warm. In fact all the facilities where spotless and the wardens are always busy.
The small country park adjacent to the site is good for walking and cycling. We had a really nice time here and will return again for sure.
