A site of two halves
Well located just off the A92 entering the village of Markinch and on the edge of a large public park with a hotel and golf course within the park. Golf club house is handy for 'pub' meals cooked to a good standard and very welcoming.
Good location within Fife for travels around to St Andrews, the coastal villages and Dunfermline. Station in Markinch also gives access to Edinburgh and is easily walkable from site.
it is a site with two different characteristics though - the north-eastern part is badly overlooked by houses/flats and is at a much lower level to them so generally very unappealing. The other part of the site has some open glades or alternatively some areas within the trees. There are no facilities on-site for children's play but the adjoining park gives plenty of run-around' space.
One pitch to avoid, having seen the problems caused to others trying to get into it and the adjoining spaces either side, is No.47. In my view it would be better to scrap this one completely and simply make it a turning area for the adjoining pitches.
Would I go back? Yes, if I could be guaranteed of getting a spot away from the houses. As there would be no guarantee then, sadly, probably not.
