We had a one night stopover at the end of a tour of Arran and Kintyre. The site is easy to find along good side roads by the University. Check-in was very speedy. The site is well laid out with trees and colourful flowers. Access to well separated hard standing pitches is good with great hedge separation of the bays. It was quiet and peaceful the night we were there. The toilet and shower block is perhaps a little dated but very clean and well maintained. It has the best showers of our whole trip ( showers that treated me like an adult- height and temperature adjustable/not push buttons/inset tiled shower trays that contained the water). This site is an easy 25-30 minute walk into Ayr and we were amazed by how lovely the promenade and beach are. We ate at “The Bistro” - probably one of the best meals we have ever had. For a stopover or a stay on this coast we should very much recommend Craigie Gardens. Thanks to the local team. PS We found this site to be so positively different to some recent negative reviews.
