Beware : warden!!!
This is my favourite club site but was bitterly disappointed in our recent stay. Before we even got there we got a call from the disgruntled warden asking if we still required our pitch as we were due to be there between 12-2 and it was now 7:20. I apologised and explained we were 6 miles from the site and would be there in 10 minutes (still 30 mins before closing time), he then went on to ask AGAIN if we were still coming I tried to explain my forgetting to call and say we'd be later as we'd picked up our new caravan that lunch time and got held up at the dealership, to which he asked AGAIN if we were still coming. Was I speaking a different language? When we got there at 7:30 I tried to make light of the situation saying sometimes the best things are worth waiting for to which the mild mannered man replied like my tea? U was furious so paid and got out asap. A stark difference from the previous wardens Sarah and her husband who would have gone the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The gardens were missing the "Sarah" touch too - although it was early season.
He also put signs up in the toilets complaint to the members for making a noise when coming home in a taxi at night, to which everyone we spoke to were laughing at him for. Also a childlike sign was put at the entrance stopping taxis from entering the site. All in all I think this man has got a bit power crazy and has forgotten who pays his wages. I'm sure if he doesn't want woken up there are plenty of people who wouldn't mind putting up with that to be in charge of such a gorgeous site.
