Ayr CC Site

Close to the centre of Ayr, though that is no recommendation! However, a short drive away there is quite a lot of lovely coastline and interesting things to visit. Dumfries House should not be missed and there is plenty to fascinate those interested in Robbie Burns. The site is well kept but the showers are not to the standard of other sites we have visited. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Craigie

This is one of the best sites in Scotland the flowers at the office are lovely The toilet block is a bit dated but the wardens keep them spotless. The site is within walking distance of the town and a lovely walk along the river

Our Summer Holiday

We stayed on site from 18/7/15 until 1/08/15 (14 nights - 2 adults and 2 children) we found the wardens very friendly and the site entrance was beautiful with all of the flowers! The site was well positioned with a short walk to the train station a family day ticket to Glasgow was £20 this covered the subway and all of the buses as well. There are lots of National Trust properties in the area and local industrial museums. The weather wasn't great while we were there but there is plenty to do and see. The site itself is well maintained but the showers are looking very tired and could do with updating. But apart from that we would happily go back

Short stay for us; wish had been bit longer

We used this site for a one night stop over on way further north. It is exactly what we have come to expect from from caravan club sites; clean, spacious, pleasant staff, ... As mentioned by others, you are close to town and therefore not in the middle of the countryside; not in a noisy mid town setting either. We didn't have long enough in Ayr and that is why I wish we had stayed a bit longer.  Would definitely go back.

Town centre site

We stayed here for 2 nights during our tour of Scotland and found the site easy to find but we do prefer sites with better views than the car park of the neighbouring college. It is only a short walk down to the canal and you can walk into town centre in about 15 mins. Personally we wouldn't stay here for any longer than a couple of nights as we prefer more countryside but the site itself is upto normal standards. Pitch sizes good and facilities clean etc too so I would recommend this if you don't mind town centre sites.  I think someone needs to teach drivers how fast 5mph is though! Most seem to put a 2 in front. (25mph! At least ) This this needs addressing on all  sites though so it's not site specific.

Short stay at Ayr

We had booked to stay here for three weeks but within a couple of days we knew this was not the site for us.  The site itself is well placed for Ayr - you can walk into town from the site but other than this it is really just a base and a lot of the attractions involve quite a drive.  There is no dog walk on site, there are a series of little walks just off the site - we found more during the week we were there but sadly there was an awful lot of litter round the surrounding area outside the site. We visited the Isle of Arran whilst we were there - a must for anyone in this area and we went to Galloway Forest park many times - the Red Kite feeding station is brilliant as is the Osprey site at Castle Threave but really a week at this site is more than long enough We did find the wardens a tad unfriendly and quite a few cars completely ignored the five mile speed limit through the site

A Great Little Site

We arrived back home yesterday after 13 nights on this site. It is brilliant. Well sheltered and a credit to the Wardens. Easy access by foot into town by various routes. It is clean, tidy and well looked after. Great venue for touring round or relaxing if you so wish as it is very quiet. Hope this site is on the Club Network for many years to come. The Wardens were all very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable

Lovely site

We stayed here whilst visiting family in Scotland. The facilities are clean and functional. Everything you need is available. Nothing was to trouble for the wardens who made us feel very welcome. Would recommend this site highly.

Love this site!

Lost count how often we've stayed on this site. This time we stayed for a week from 20th until 27th April and were very lucky with the weather for most of the time. The site is well maintained by the friendly warden team. The shower block is very tired but that is due to issues with renewing the lease. I just hope we don't lose this site in a few years to come. This is a great site for dog owners with lots of walks avoiding the need to be near roads and is also within a short walk to the beach. We also found a few country parks nearby. Also if you like a nice carvery visit the Carlton Hotel in Preswick only a 10 min drive from the site. It's on from a Sunday through till Thursday. I would book if you go on a Sunday though.
