Good for families

The pub is pretty good as well

No point repeating what others have said. In summary a lovely little site immaculately kept by helpful site managers: easy to find and access providing directions given by the club are followed: conveniently located for lots of local attractions including Duxford air museum half hour away. Now, the important bit: food and drink!! Of the three pubs in Ashwell the Bushel and strike is closed until "further notice". The Rose and Crown is spasmodically open but seeking new tenants. This leaves the three tuns, conveniently the one nearest. A very cheery welcome, Dogs allowed in the bar and you can eat there as well. Food, for the location and price was excellent. Freshly cooked, not a microwaved bit in sight, free range chicken, innovative (chicken parmigiano was a treat to find in a small-village pub)... a little bit of a wait time but nothing to complain about. Again the wine list was above average for the type of location. Elsewhere in the village, a lovely little tea room, a great butchers, a pharmacy, post office and news and an artisan bakers. For those of faith three churches to choose from. This site is definitely one I want to return to. Even with storm Brendan shaking the van if felt a very comfortable place to be.

Did you note the "graffiti "in the churchsmile

They've cleaned it off since I last wrote on the walls !

Seriously, not been in the church yet, first visit was in the middle of a 9 mile run and starting to rain so I wanted to get home, second visit into town was for dinner at the 3 tuns and third visit was to the pharmacy to get cough medicine for my sister before scurrying back out of the way of  Storm Brendan!
