The wardens George and Lesley must be getting used to our odd ways by now. Stayed for one night on our way to Sicily as we had to collect daughters rabbit to deliver to Geneva in passing.Lesley had thoughtfully pitched us on the nearest outside pitch to the gate as we had to collect said rabbit at 03-00 and return to hitch up to catch the Eurotunnel at 08-20.Everything went like clockwork and we hope no-one was even aware we had gone.Site its usual super self and on our way back six weeks later we stayed for one night again on our way back "oop north".It is the first time in many visits that we have noticed any aircraft noise,and this presumably because of the easterly wind direction affecting Luton operations,but the aircraft are certainly not disturbing.In fact in the late afternoon we had a welcome short display by one of Duxfords clipped wing Spitfires!! George and Lesley retire from full time wardening in a month to do some well earned touring.They will be a hard act to follow. Hope to see you both sometime at Wyatts Covert.
