We stayed here for a couple of nights and it is a small, peaceful site. Some nice walks and the village of Ashwell is very pleasant. If you are in a motorhome and don't want the hassle of packing things up for day trips then a couple of nights here is probably plenty. Although the site was pleasant, clean and well kept our trip was spoilt somewhat by the male warden. He was unnecessarily grumpy and at times rude, I felt like I was being spoken to by the headmaster. It's a shame as his awful welcome and attitude in my eyes gives this site a bad name, took the edge of the visit and we won't be revisiting due to this.
