The Village of Ashwell is beautiful with 3 excellent public houses that all do excellent food. The village is about a 15 minute walk from the site. If you are in a motorhome and wish to visit Royston or Baldock then the public transport is very scarce only 2 buses a day. The railway station is about a 2 mile walk from the site. If you do manage to get the bus into Royston then the taxi fare back to the site will cost about £18.00 takes the pleasure out of it a bit. But that said the site is beautiful well kept and the toilets and shower block are exceptional the site wardens are very helpful and work very hard on your behalf. Its well worth a visit.
