The middle of nowhere
We stayed here for 3 nights in the second half of May. This was our first visit to this site, and we chose it because of its isolation. It is a truly wonderful place with stunning views in every direction. We decided to book a no services eco pitch just for the fun of it, and had no regrets. These were (in our opinion) the best appointed pitches on the site. The walking in the hills is great, and also along the B road running past the site. There were also plenty of opportunities to see the deer and lots and lots of different birds. There is free fishing on the Loch from the bank adjacent to the site. Fly and spinning are the only methods allowed, but conditions were not ideal during our stay, so once again no fish for the bbq. The wardens were also great, and really helpful. Despite there being no toilet and shower facilities on this site they put a lot of effort into keeping the site looking good.
