What has happened?  The site is looking better than ever, the surroundings just as stunning, the wildlife amazing and the wardens excellent and very friendly and helpful, but in early July when it should be good and busy it was almost deserted.  The guide talks of midges; I didn't meet one over two days and it has never, in my experience of over twenty years of visiting Altnaharra, been anywhere near as bad as other comparable sites. I think the club needs to remind people that this is one of the most special sites the Caravan Club offers and should be a must for anyone who loves beautiful countryside, nature and enjoys an amazing experience.
