Excellent campsite
We've stayed here several times since 2021. The location for getting into central London is brilliant. This is because it's only a short walk to the station from which you can take the Elizabeth Line and be at Tottenham Court Road in 20 minutes. The trains are frequent, fast and comfortable with air conditioning.
Having said all that about getting away from the site, it is delightful. It's set on the edge of a residential area bordering ancient woodlands. I've recently stayed a week on my own and walked back each evening...never feeling unsafe or worried. I think the area is really nice.
The pitches are well spaced and generally flat and the trees make it feel as though you're in the countryside. The occasional siren or loud motorcycle disturbs that illusion...but those are rare. The site is usually very peaceful. Of course there are families staying and there's a little playground in the centre but the joyful laughter of children is a pleasure to hear so although we don't have children with us, we're very happy to recommend the site to oldies like us. Of course if you have little ones, it's an excellent site for you.
The toilets and showers are good. In places they're getting a little tatty, for example there were some small rust stains on the floor in my nearest block between the shower cubicles. There's a bit of mildew here and there, but that can't be avoided and I'd say they are kept very clean. Bins are emptied regularly and the facilities generally are really well maintained.
Staff are always very kind and helpful. We've stayed here on about 8 separate occasions and staff have always been excellent. There's clearly a very good team culture here. Even the flower pots outside reception are beautifully maintained. People are kind and patient. They take time when checking in to explain the site and provide advice about the naughty foxes and squirrels.....which are regular visitors and something to be aware of.
Overall an excellent site which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
