Great site we’ll be back

This is a great site particularly if you are planning to visit central London. The Abbey Wood train/tube station is a 5 minute walk and it takes around 35 mins to get to all the sights and West End. Although you’re really close to the attractions the site itself is set in a quiet tranquil location in woodland and there are foxes and squirrels around the site. The facilities are very clean and the site is well kept. I can’t see us booking a hotel in central London again when we visit. Highly recommended

So accessible for Central London

We booked this site specifically to go to BST at Hyde Park and this was a great decision. The Elizabeth Line runs from Abbey Walk (a downhill walk taking around 10 minutes) right into London including Tottenham Court Road and Bond Street meaning easy access to our venue. As we rarely use our awning I booked a hard standing pitch without awning and to be honest that was a mistake. So if you’re booking choose a pitch with awning as you’ll definitely get a better pitch. We needed levelling ramps and where we were (last pitch available) we were close to the road running around the site and also one of the road bumps which meant at times it was quite noisy. The facilities were excellent and we would definitely visit again. A minor niggle was that there was live music coming from the wood well into the early hours of the morning. We had to shut our windows as it was so loud and we could still hear it. Shame really that such an event was allowed to go on so late at night but also if it was known about (sounded like there were lots of people there) some prior notice when checking in would have been good.

Hidden Gem

I have been totally amazed at this campsite, from arrival my first words were wow! Once inside you would never believe you are in London! It’s so quiet and peaceful! Amazing transport links too. Facilities are so clean and showers amazing pressure and hot! An abundance of facilities for all to use, never had to queue for showers and always clean and tidy. The staff are lovely especially Danielle who cleans the facilities, super helpful and does a fab job! Highly recommend this site and I will definitely be back!

Peace and quiet near the city

Really lovely place, in the woods, with squirrels running around, and yet, a few minutes away from London. The pitches are nice although some are on a bit of a slope. Everything is very clean and the staff are lovely. The train station is 7 minutes away. All the services are there for the motorhome. We definitely recommend it.

Secret oasis

Arrived around 6pm so didn’t get the best choice of pitch which was on a slight slope but didn’t bother us. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. The site is very clean and well looked after with great facilities in lots of areas on the site. We had a meeting in London the next day so couldn’t get back for the deadline to leave the site but after a phone call was told we could extend our stay until 4pm which was great! All in all a fabulous site which I can highly recommend and indeed will use again. 10/10

The perfect base for visiting London

This was our second stay at Abbey Wood and there had been one massive change since last time... the Elizabeth Line. Ten minutes to walk to the railway station then just around 20 minutes to the heart of London. Fantastic. Having a huge Sainsbury's right next to the station is also really convenient. As for the site itself, it's exceptional. Great pitches, fantastically maintained and with super-clean facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful too, which makes all the difference. We will be back, without doubt, when we next need to spend a few days in London.

Amazing setting for an urban capital site

We've been on many sites near to capital cities around the world and this is definitely the best. Immaculately clean and tidy, a fantastic rural setting, full of mature trees with no sights or sounds of the city, and yet 10 mins walk from all the facilities you might need and great transport links. Can't really be bettered and we will be back

Great site.

This was our first time at Abbey Wood and we will be back. The site is a green oasis in the midst of suburbia. Once on the site the only reminder that one is not out in the countryside is some traffic noise but I have been on countryside sites with worse road noise. Getting into Central London is quick and easy via the Elizabeth line and the supermarket is only a short walk too right next to the station. Facilities are good, showers and toilets were immaculate and water was hot and plentiful. Staff were friendly.
