Great stay, friendly and welcoming

Stayed here as a base for a weekend in London. Arrived Friday night, booking in was quick and easy. The site managers were super friendly and very informative. One of the toilet blocks was shut as it’s heating could not cope with the exceptionally cold outside temperatures but this did not matter at all as on arrival we were told about this and shown the vacant pitches closest to the open block. The toilet facilities were very clean and well kept. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Thank you

Rural London access

Surprisingly rural, complete with parakeets Nearby Abbey Wood park has good long walks and views of central London somewhat tired facilities New Elizabeth Line is excellent - site to Bond Street in 40 minutes Or take train to Greenwich and Uber ferry to Westminster for cheap tourist trip. Note is in London LEZ

Disgraceful

This was our first visit to the site and apart from the mediocre welcome to site the toilet and shower facility block is the worst we have seen, we where there for 3 nights and don’t recall ever seen these cleaned, both my wife and I commented on how bad the cleanliness was and noticed faults on the first night were still the same on the third night, given how the club advertises the hygiene this is the worst we have seen a facility block so much so we refused to take showers on the second night onwards, utter disgrace. I’ll not be visiting this site in the future unless there’s an upgrade to the block or a change in management.

Really nice and convenient for London

This site is what it says on the can. It’s a real haven. When you come - do it their way not yours ! You’ll have no trouble if you approach as per the instructions. Once there you’ll be treated to a whole load of bright green parrots who fly the treetops. There are foxes, and you’ll see as well as hear them. An owl was in a tree just above us. London is near and we did the lights on Cmas day. They say it’s quiet on Cmas day but it was rammed - but well worth going. The site is near Greenwich Park which is really nice, and places to eat and drink by the river. Cyclists - do not go on the Thames Path unless there are a group of you. Seriously be careful. I was attacked by bike jackers on mopeds. Slammed me into a metal fence and came at me with an angle grinder - my bike had to be given up. My wife was on her mobility scooter. Police came quickly and said it happens a lot. This group even came back for another go at us. Police said Abbey Wood site is very safe. Just be careful on the Thames Path. Martin and Lin

A good site but could do with some updating

First visit here - like most reviewers we were looking to shop in London. Easy to get to from M25 (either Jn 1A or 2) with wide roads in. Watch for the leaning tree on Federation Street though. Entry to site is easy and the pitches are wide and well-spaced. The shower block could do with some updating as looking a little tired but was very clean and everything worked OK. Good access to the train station and there are some local shops close by for provisions (inc Sainsburys). Local area seemed safe for walking at night Would definitely return

What a great place and staff amazing

We stay at Abbeywood a lot as it's close to family. Chris and Stephanie are always very welcoming and the site is run excellently. Paul and Karen, Assistant Managers, are here again till the end of November and both couldn't be more helpful an example of this was we couldn't find availability for a weekend and we mentioned this to Paul, he kept an eye on the bookings and informed us straight away when a space became free, Karen also assisted us with some bookings also . All the staff including Danielle and an unknown member of staff are so friendly. The Site is a great base for exploring London.

Perfect break on a perfect site

Our first trip to see the sights in London and this site could not have offered us more. Everyone was very friendly and always smiling. Lovely secluded location, which is so quiet that you think you're in the countryside. Sensible toilet cleaning times, thank you. Very convenient for the tube, with a large supermarket near station. We had a wonderful week in November and intend to return next month.

Absolutely superb

Stayed at Abbey Wood last weekend and had great stay. Site fantastic and with the Elizabeth line up and running it is only 30 mins to get to Totenham Court road! Unfortunately just after leaving the site I clipped the curb with the van and got a flat. Managed to limp to somewhere we could safely stop and set about replacing the tyre only to find that our 2 year old Bailey Pegasus come with a spare tire but no jack! We were absolutely stuffed and had no idea what to do next until my Wife suggested calling the site. After a short chat the guys at the site went away and managed to locate a bottle jack, they then drove over and spent at least an hour in wet conditions helping to get the tyre changed. Thank you so much for helping, the service you provided was absolutely top notch and got us on our way again for our 2.5 hour jouney home. Best site, best staff, best experience all round! Bailey Caravans - what on earth are you thinking not including such a vital piece of equipment in a 30k Caravan - shame on you and that's the last Bailey I will be owning.

Perfect site to visit London, great wardens

This was our first visit to this site, and it most certainly will not be our last. Very friendly and helpful wardens, but I will expand on that later. On arrival we were greeted to the sound of parakeets and the sight of Jays, the site really does have a rural feel to it. Literally within minutes of setting up we were on the train to visit Greenwich for the afternoon, the walk to and from the Abbey Wood station was between 5 and 10 minutes. This is a great service, but not as frequent as the new Elizabeth line, which we used the following day to have a full day of sightseeing, and an evening of Upstart Crow at The Apollo. The journey back to site after the show couldn't have been easier, a short walk to the Tottenham Court Road station, a 24-minute train journey and we were back at Abbey Wood. Day three was very similar to the previous day, which concluded with a gig at The Palladium. Always check the last train at night, on both our evenings it was 23:03pm, but would imagine as the new service develops this may change. We had a special request, which we raised with the wardens before we arrived and also during check in. They couldn't have been more helpful, offering a couple of solutions, both of which were fine by us. As it happens, this request caused a problem, through no fault of the site or the wardens (or us!), but our request was met, which was of great relief to us. So a big thank you to all the wardens, and Richard in particular, and an apology to those who may have been inconvenienced.

Perfect site for visiting London

We had a great week up in London staying at the Abbey Wood site. Highly recommended - it's a great site, wooded with plenty of space. It's a 10 min walk down to Abbey Wood station then just 23 mins on the new Elizabeth line into Tottenham Court Road (modern trains and stations). Easy access for tourist spots, theatres, museums, shops. Really easy access from the M25. It's in the LEZ, so it depends on the age of your vehicle as to whether a charge will apply. Just check the Transport For London website. The wardens were brilliant - really friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again.
