Best site ever in 55 years.

We spent Christmas 2022 at this site and despite the poor weather liked it so much that we extended our stay until New Years Day. The site facilities and layout are the nicest we have ever experienced in 55 years of caravanning. The site is level and hard standing with room for an awning on the hard section. We didn’t use the awning because of the time of year. The toilet and showers have been built to a very high standard. Lots of hot water and heated as well. The disabled shower is especially nice. Andrew welcomed us with cups of tea and nothing was too much trouble for him during our stay. He has an interesting collection of vintage tractors. We’ve never stayed in this area before and will return in the spring or summer. We did manage to visit the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre and spent about three hours there. It’s well worth the visit. The poor weather (it was December!) kept us in the caravan for half the time but we did get some walks including Humberston Park, Far Ings Nature Reserve (with a walk along the bank of the Humber), Cleethorpes Promenade, and the highlight of a visit to Donna Nook where there were 250 seals including mothers, fathers and pups. All the walks were wheelchair friendly, especially if you have motor-assist. There are other such walks that we’ll attempt when we return later. There’s plenty to see and do in this area. A great deal of thought and effort has been made in setting up this new site.
