Lovely quiet and rural site with facilities

For us this is the perfect CL. Friendly owner and beautifully kept site. Clean facilities (shower + toilet). The site is in a quiet rural valley about a mile off the main A381. The nearby pup, Union Inn at Denbury, serves great pub food in convivial surroundings, including a large outdoor space in front of the pub. The approaching lane has plenty of passing spaces and, at least while we were driving it, really quite quiet - expect to see 1 or 2 other vehicles between the A381 and the CL. We really enjoyed our stay here. Many thanks to Claire.

a mixed bag

Access to the site and the village of Denbury is down a narrow lane. It surprises me that probably 500 houses are accessed by this route, but this is Devon. Please only use the route that the owner sends you as others are impassable with a caravan. Personally I found the lanes a downside of the site. On entering the field there is a large barn in the center and a livery stables on the left. The pitches are arranged around the barn that contains stored caravans and machinery. The grass was well cut and the road way well maintained. When we were there (in covid19 period) there were 2 gravel pitches next to the stables and 4 pitches against the hedges. There are electric hook ups and a clean and well maintained toilet and shower. When people arrived to tend their horses at the stables in the morning and evening, they are sometimes noisy with children and dogs, sometimes quite. If I return I would avoid the gravel pitches and the livery stables. In the evening owls can be heard and seen from the caravan window hunting around the site.

Another fantastic stay at Wrenwell.

We`ve just returned from another fantastic stay at Wrenwell, we rarely visit CLs more than once as we enjoy visiting new sites but as we enjoyed our stay last September thought we`d go again. The site is always immaculate and the tranquility is beyond measure, we spent hours outside looking at the stars and listening to the owls at night, there is no light pollution and cars seldom pass after dark. We love this CL!

Great site out in rural Devon

A large flat spacious site with 3 club-sized hard standings and as much grass as you need. Wrenwell Meadows is easy to find if you turn off satnav and follow Andy's detailed instructions, which he will send to you when you book. The lanes look long and narrow on a map, but the forward visibility is good and there are plenty of passing places. The locals are courteous drivers who drive here every day, so it's in their interests to be helpful. Just don't expect to have right of way; wait until you are flashed. The above-mentioned Andy owns the CL and turns up every day to empty the bins and keep the toilet block spotlessly clean. If you don't want to wipe down your own shower there is a coin-operated one for a quid. EHU is 16 amp and we never had an issue even though it was getting cold when we were there. The pub is a 5 minute walk away, does lovely meals and there's a quiz night on Thursdays. Everyone is very friendly and by the end of the night we felt like locals... Denbury is handy for the Torbay area and most seaside towns here are only about half an hour away. Dartmoor is not far away to the North. I can't recommend this site highly enough - thanks Andy...

An utter gem.

The best CL we've had the pleasure of staying at. This CL has it all, clean toilet and shower facilities, fantastic location and peace and quiet. Andy is a very friendly owner who made sure everything on the CL was in good order on a daily basis. This is a perfect location for exploring Dartmoor and the coast from Dawlish to Torquay. Some of the access roads are quite narrow but they are perfectly accessible. The Union Inn pub is a 5 minute walk into Denbury and serves excellent food (breakfasts on Fri, Sat and Sunday) and decent beers. We will visit this site again as it is just so nice, at night there is no light polution and it's lovely to sit out and listen to the wildlife.

A great CL

This is a fab CL - plenty of room, well cared for and the owner is so friendly and helpful. There is a mixture of hard standings and grass pitches to choose from, The toilet area was clean and the fresh water tap for filling water butts had a good pressure. We stayed three nights and the weather was ideal. There are two ways to approach this site via East Ogwell or Two mile Oak, they both have lanes but the Ogwell approach, whilst it has a few speed humps, has wider lanes. We looked up where it was on Google maps first as the postcode provided is not where the site is.

Gem of a site

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at this gem of a site. Although the owner does not live on site he called at least once every day and we found Andy to be very friendly and extremely helpful particularly when we had a problem with our car. He cleaned the facilities every day and kept the overall appearance of the site immaculate. We will definitely be returning.

lovley

Just returned from a week spent on this site and what a lovely CL it is. Peaceful, tranquil, lovely setting. Large site offering plenty of space. 2 hard standings plus you basically put your van wherever suits your mood. We went for the hard standing. Best lawn I've ever seen on a CL!! Toilet and separate shower available. Shower costs £1 but well worth the money, you get approx 20 mins in shower. Facilities were always clean. Owner doesn't live on site and you basically fend for yourselves. Owner did pop in and he was a lovely guy and friendly. Stables based next to site with a few people coming and going but caused no issues. 5 minute walk to the local pub which served excellent food and great place to stop, have a drink and watch the world go by.Also served as a local shop for all necessities . Great location to explore Devon, visited Plymouth, Dartmouth, Exeter and Torquay. Asda supermarket 10 min drive away. would definitely return. Small lanes on the way to site are not for the faint hearted but a confident tower can navigate.

Excellent caravan site

Myself and my wife have stayed here many times over the years and seen this cl grow to the high standard it is today. The owner is one of the frendliest people you could meet, the previous review if a tad picky, is not a reflection of this lovely rural site, you would expect a few lanes being in a rural area, toilet and showers have always been clean and well presented, a pound for a shower with the very low pitch fee is fantastic value for money. 2 hardstandings with one more to be plannend in the near future, great views over the fields what more could you ask for?

Disappointing

We stayed at this CL for 4 nights in Sept 2016. The site is certainly nice and grass is kept neat & tidy however owners of 27ft twin axles beware -  the directions given by the owner take you down very narrow lanes with no passing places, we met at least 3 tractors and various vehicles so our journey to the site was quite stressful to say the least. The owner does not live on site and doesn't seem to take the same care to clean the toilet block as he does to cut the grass. On our 4 night stay the toilets were never cleaned once and I had to ask him some toilet roll not long after our arrival, which was certainly not a good first impression. The shower costs £1 which is a personal gripe as I feel any such cost should be mentioned in the handbook. The surrounding area is beautiful but we shall certainly look for another CL if we return.
