Lovely wee gem of a site

Stayed here for 2 nights last month. Was very easily accessed from road and welcomed by lovely elderly owner Dennis and his miniature Dachshund, Simon. There were 3 vans on site and we parked our motorhome on a hardstanding overlooking the fields. Levelling blocks are definitely a must on this site and even then we still weren't completely level. The portaloos were clean and adequate for a small CL. There are kennels situated quite locally and the noise when the dogs wake up can be heard from the site, but as we had our own two dogs with us it wasn't a problem. As others have said, the water taps can't take a hose so we came prepared with watering cans and didn't have a problem. Overall I would definitely recommend and go back to this site if we are in the area.

A pleasant site with adequate facilities

This site had the normal basic facilities, compared to other CLs it was slightly overpriced. The water tap had a push button and was very slow, not possible to attach a hose to it. The very old owner was pleasant when he appeared in the evening. The hard standing at the top takes probably 3 units, so after they are full you are on a grassy slope and probably in shade. We followed the satnav and approached from the “wrong” direction, not a problem but certainly easier from the B9012. Overall it was pleasant.

Small and peaceful

Just a small site but secluded and quiet with gentle countryside views as well as apparently disused farm buildings . Excellent cycling access to local and national routes on mainly very quiet small roads. Portaloos perfectly adequate. Site easy to find. Owner a lovely, helpful man, accompanied by delightful miniature dachshund - not sure if it's the same one as in a previous review or perhaps Mark 2!

Excellent base for Moray coast

Quite a small site, especially when the soft ground becomes wet, meaning everyone has to crowd around the drier edges. Good view across surrounding farmed countryside. Basic toilets in portaloo -type units with cold water wash basins. Easy access from road and well signposted. Close to Elgin with good range of shops plus Tesco, Asda, Lidl and Aldi. Elgin Museum interesting, especially for natural history and geology. 3 Italian ice cream parlours in nearby Lossiemouth. Findhorn Community well worth a walk around for unusual eco-housing and fantastic organic shop.

Well worth a stay!

Friendly welcome from owner Open views with trees around, very tidy quiet site, easy access off main road to Hopeman, and good value at £11.00 per night, 3 hardstanding, 2 grass pitches each with their own water supply, but need levellers. The toilets are two old metal units, ( Ladies & Gents) tucked in the trees and serve the purpose well. Good location for exploring many places along this beautiful coastline.

Fantastic experience

This was our first experience of using a CL site. We were delighted with this site and will definitely be back soon, the ease of booking by speaking with the owner directly and obtaining clear directions. The site has 3 hard standing and 2 grass pitches, a little uneven and blocks required, also has a basic portaloo tucked neatly within trees. It's a fabulous quiet site with great views. Ideal for us visiting relatives in Elgin and also close proximity to the beaches.

A little haven

We loved this site.  We arrived for a week and stayed for three!  It's very near to so many things to see and do and yet a tranquil little oasis with easy access and quite level pitching.  Very dog friendly - the owner has a delightful little Dachsund called Oscar who would come to check that all was in order!  Basic loo, electric hook-up and 'Bob's yer Uncle'.  Top tip, the leisure centre charges £1 for a shower if needed and there's a great laundry down the road.  The owner couldn't have been more helpful and was always at hand if needed.  We look forward to returning some time in the future.
