A great stop over very convenient to the M5, and as a passed CL owner I do feel guilty only using it for the one night this time but will return for a longer stay. Except for a little road noise absolutely lovely. Mrs Thomas gave a warm welcome to an open site as accurately described previously. There is a lot to do in this area and at £12 a night this site deserves to be well used.
Handy stop over.
We stayed a couple of nights here on our way up north. It's very handy for hopping off the M5 near Worcester. Easy access, nice flat grass area. There's a loo but no shower.A bit of road noise but nothing too obtrusive. You have to drive a short distance for any walks but we found one at Ombersley and one at Upton Snodbury. Pub just up the road is nothing special but does reasonable food at a reasonable price.
CL is good value at £12 a night.
Fine site
The site is a large, relatively flat paddock behind the farm bungalow and garden, with 5 EHU and plenty of room. Mr Thomas has just fit a toilet in the old Stable block at the site entrance, a welcome addition for some. The site, which lies about 1.5 miles from the M5 Junction 6 off the Droitwich road, has a wide entrance, but care is needed as this is a busy road during the day. Although the site is so close to the motorway there is little traffic noise and we were not disturbed by it. The nearest pub is the The Swan, 1/2 ml away towards Droitwich, with another a little further along the road. The nearest NT property is Hanbury Hall about 6mls away and the Park & Ride for Worcester is 1 ml back towards the motorway. Although there are no official footpaths passing the site, by crossing one of Mr Thomas's field one is soon onto a network of paths. We will certainly use this site again, great value for money and very convenient.
Wet Bank Holiday No problem!!
We arrived on this well located CL late afternoon to be welcomed by the landowner who swiftly modelled his Wellies so he could show us to our weekend pitch. Once set up we soon relaxed in our van whilst the rain continued to lash it down. Altho the field was drenched and spongy we had no problems in getting the car off on Saturday Morning for the journey back to work. It rained yet again 90% of the day. Our return to the van after work was trouble free and the site still drenched we had no probs getting back on. Altho not gifted with sunshine the Sunday was much dryer and the temperature was comfortable, then to our delight the late afternoon sunshine appeared and made significant improvement to the ground that was squelchy but soon started to dry out. A small camper van came in but once he stopped he couldn't move, the land owner modelled his wellies yet again and armed himself with a tractor minutes later problem resolved. Nothing too much trouble.
The services on site as we have grown to expect for CLs, water quality good, separate tap at the grey water drain and yet another at the elsan. Some recycling available too. As previous review we took extra mains cable, our pitch was a little too far away to reach the hook up with one lead. If we had only took one lead we simply would have pitched closer to the supply.
Free entertainment from the sheep in the adjoining field
FREE view tv signal good
Reasonable 3G service, a little patchy but generally good.
O2 network work well too.
Land owner & his wife very personable, Altho we didn't need any help from them I'm sure they wouldn't even flinch at any such request.
Shall we return? YES!
Two nights May 2013
I stayed for 2 nights with my motorhome, welcomed on arrival by the site owner who opened the gate for access to the allocated space.
Reasonable size field with lush green grass surrounded on 3 sides with trimmed thorn hedging, more than enough space for the allowable 5 units.
Electrical hook-up points on 2 sides of the field so you may need a long lead if not at the centre bay.
Very tidy and well served service area, 3 different bins as now seems usual, tap for drinking water and another tap positioned over the Chem toilet emptying point, easy to use cover.
Although on a working farm none of the usual farmyard aroma or frantic activity of machinery, pretty quite site even though it is in fairly close proximity to a road, I was never disturbed by traffic noise.
Both Mr and Mrs Thomas are very likeable people and from my experience I am sure all visitors receive a warm welcome.
The picture shows my motorhome positioned almost in the centre of the field length.
