A very peaceful hideaway
One of the simplest of sites, a field with a tap and dustbins. Pretty flat, I didn't need ramps for levelling. Surrounded by mature woods on all sides, in the bottom of a valley, with access by typical Devon lanes - very narrow. Very quiet, a passing car is a rare event indeed. But it's only 10 minutes drive from the A38. No mobile phone reception.
Owner is a lovely lady, Jan, who offered me a lift to the pub in Ilsington (it's uphill). The pub is a gem: charming, friendly, with excellent food and ales.
