This is the smallest CL I have been on in 35 years of camping. The toilet block is a long way and is not clean. The dirty mop bucket sat in the same place for the duration of our stay. The facilities are shared by the general public who visit the cafe. The bins were overflowing and only emptied once during our stay of 5 days (should've been a week, but we went somewhere better). There is a small permanent cove of van dwellers next door and a dog from there roams freely around the CL. The reception is awful, and the outside of it is bordering on dangerous, with deep holes and cables, cones, broken Harris fencing and an awfully dirty old caravan. The tap is so old that none of our fittings would go on it, so it was difficult to rinse the waste water. The drain was blocked too. Around the outside of the CL is just overgrown brambles, plants and generally a mess. If you want to stay here for a cheap break to go out all day then it's in a good position, but use your own facilities.
Very tired
Stopped on the flooded CL site. Facilities not near for the CL site, had to use the car to access, very poor cleanliness, dirty bucket of water to mop shower floor, excrement left on the toilet rim of first toilet, block opened to the general public! Elsan point access across very boggy grass as was the water tap. Toilets, hairdryer, laundry dryer, out of order, cafe shut and no opening time given, no indication upon booking that this site floods. The main site is mostly full of full time caranners, making the site looking very untidy as the awnings and caravans are full of green mould. This was our first time away for Christmas and the last at this site, it so needs a lot of TLC, very poor!
Untidy
This site is untidy needs some tlc, there’s no longer a warden and they’ve started letting tents to pitch up.
A lovely site
Stayed here for a few nights on the CL, 29/08-31/08/20.
Beautiful site, good facilities and access. Very clean and good covid cleaning measures in operation. Great value for money as shower and facilities included and cleaned regularly. Welcome pack for all new comers.
A lovely site even if a bit noisy, unfortunately.
new year break
good site for visiting York bus stop at the site entrance park and ride down the road within 5 mins, only downsides to this site no security any one can drive in and they did, a bit over priced at £17 and the near by road is very noisy from early in the morning though in to the night .
Good Location for York
This site is great for getting into York, we ended up in the 'main site' just behind the CL as they were full, we did look at the CL part and were surprised how close together the pitches were. All the cars for the main site(which is very large) drive right past the CL part as do the public to the Farm shop.
Having just spent 5 days in the Dales on lovely quiet CL sites the one was a let down and it cost us more than double what we had been paying (over priced)

Re stay: 11th August for 3 nights
Nice private section for Club members. Very helpful receptionist, made to feel very welcome.Very clean loos and showers. Bus at site entrance to York, £3.20 return. Good base for the area. On-site cafe excellent value, ate there 3 times. Definately will return if in the area.
Lovely site
Just spent 5 lovely days on this wonderful site and made all the better by the great weather. Toilets and showers immaculate Never got a chance to eat in the cafe but other caravaners reports were excellent. we will be back thats for sure
Immaculate site
Stayed here October 2014 for long weekend. Directions to site spot on (watch for the flags flying). The Manager was very helpful. A bit tight getting into CL with a large outfit (Landrover and Coachman Laser) but can be done with care. For easier access drive upto reception and enter CL as you come back down the exit road. 5 gravel pitches 3 in first area bordered by grass and 2 fully gravelled pitches in further area. Competent reversing or motor mover required if you choose the fully gravelled area. Excellent dog walk on and from the site. One of the cleanest CL's we have stayed at, toilet and shower immaculate. CDP near to shower which is a little way from the CL but again is well laid out in its own hut with sink to wash hands etc. farm shop and cafe on site serving good food and coffee. Deposit and payment can be cash or card. Nearby park and ride to York or if you prefer the car I would suggest going on the B1263 towards York go over railway crossing and nestle and park in car park on the right (signposted). 15 minute walk to centre of York. Easy access back to site. Whilst the site is peaceful there is constant traffic noise from nearby ring road which is my only negative comment. Plenty of places to eat nearby including pubs restaurants and fast food outlets
you want the quite life then this is for you
