Not just a CL
All the reviews re: beautiful countryside views etc are true, it is a wonderful base for walking or driving holidays. However, we were dissappointed to find it wasn't a CL in 1.5acres as we were expecting from the details on the Caravan Club website/book. The flat area near the house that Martin said was the CL could squeeze in 5 caravans however the rest of the site is a steep slope & used as a regular caravan site. Martin is more than happy to help you elevate your caravan the result of which will mean you will probably have difficulty with your awning. While we were there the site regularly had up about 18 units both caravans & tents. There is one toilet & shower on the CL level & another at the top of the hill for the caravan site, we were fairly lucky in not having to queue very much but we carefully picked our moments. The toilet & shower were clean as was the site but the shower uses tokens which are £1 each or 6 for £5 & there is no time to daly & for females washing their hair it was indeed a race so that you didnt have to put a second coin in. The shower has a reasonable flow but we found the floor very slippery. For someone who wants to be very remote this is ideal, maybe if you want access to the coast most days it will require lots of driving. Martins sausages & eggs are gorgeous & the fish van coming on a Tues was a bonus & it well worth patronising. Its a lovely place just not quite what we were expecting.
