Fantastic location.

What an amazing week at this site. It couldn't have been more peaceful with fantastic views for miles. An outstanding location to get about as much of Northumberland as you want. Loads to do and great walks if you want them or just completely relax. We will definitely be back.

Superb new Cl

Great site good sized level hard standing pitches with own water and grey waste and EHU. Easy access to site with chemical waste disposal point and motorhome waste point and bin compound. TV reception excellent. Peaceful location with wonderful views. Well placed for Roman Wall, Hexham and Corbridge and many other local attractions. Owner Richard very pleasant and helpful.

Great new CL

We stayed here for 9 nights having chosen to cancel a previous booking at another 'CL' after we discovered it actually had 12 pitches... This is a new CL and from talking to Richard, it's clear he's working on making some improvements - nothing major required, more a case of a few tweaks. A word on finding the site - while it's listed as Well House, the actual farm is about a mile further down the lane so it's easy to overshoot the site as the entrance and CL sign isn't obvious until you're on it. Having turned off the main road and then immediately off the B road (as per the instructions) you approach up a slight rise with a strip of woodland on the right - there is also a mobile phone base station on the right. The gate to the CL is immediately after the strip of woodland - start braking as you approach the woodland and you should have a chance of stopping in time for the entrance! We slightly overshot and then had to back the caravan up which was an unexpected treat... Richard's planning a second sign on the left which will make it easy to find. The pitches are all level hardstanding each with its own water tap, waste point and 16 amp EHU - the views across the surrounding the countryside are great and improve the further away from the gate you get. We managed to get the end pitch which had wonderful views - only (minor) downside was the distance to carry/drag the toilet cassette when it required emptying. This was our first trip to Northumberland and we found the location excellent for trips up to Kielder Forest, the Cheviots, Scottish Borders etc. The coast is also within reach but relatively busy given the time of year - the rest of the county seemed to be blissfully quiet. Another reviewer has mentioned Wallington which is a lovely National Trust site - there's also Cragside which is just the other side of Rothbury and both are worth a visit. In summary, this is a great new CL and we can't wait to return... Definitely recommended and at £18 for a fully serviced pitch we thought it excellent value. Many thanks, Richard!

Peaceful, lovely countryside

Just a quick stopover for us. Owner very quick to respond and keen for people to use his new CL. No toilet/shower block but quiet and lovely views over rolling countryside. Water/elec/grey water at each pitch and one chemical disposal point Handy for corbridge and this section of Hadrian's wall.

Great View

A nice site which is in a quite location, there is a road behind the site but very little traffic, quite at night. Each pitch having its own water, electric hook up and grey waste and stunning views . Nice lanes for cycling we rode to stonehaugh on the edge of Kielder forrest and met very little traffic. National Trust Wallington only about 10 miles from site and worth a visit.
