First visit to the Kent area
We stayed at Watercress Farm for 4 nights in April 2019.
Tony was on hand on our arrival to point us in the right direction regarding the site facilities etc. He also handed out a sheet giving guidance on what is on offer in the area.
As others have said, the site has large hardstandings which are well separated from each other. It has EHU’s at each pitch and a water point close by [as well as one near the refuse & CDP]. A perimeter dog walk is also available.
There are quite a few footpaths in the area as well as quiet country lanes for cycling. Dering Wood is close by which is a Woodlands Trust area and was ideal for letting the dogs run loose. Lots of quiet tracks & paths.
The Rose & Crown at Mundy Bois is around a mile away and looked to be busy when we called by. There is also the Dering Arms, close to Pluckley train station, that was a bit of a “step back in time”! The local farm shop was a 10 minute walk away and was well stocked with fresh bread & vegetables. There is also a village store in Pluckley itself as well as a butchers. Newspapers are available at the store.
The only downside to the site, as others have mentioned, was the persistent barking of a neighbours dog[s] which did take the shine off our stay. Not the owners fault but it is something to bear in mind.
Otherwise a super CL with a laid back approach to all matters.
