Lovely site near places of interest
As we approached the site following instructions we hesitated when the road we turned into had a sign saying unsuitable for HGVs and appeared to go uphill into nowhere. But in reality there are passing places, our caravan is 8ft wide and had no issues, we rarely met vehicles on it. The site itself is well maintained, has a well kept toilet and site owners Joe (and Gemma) are keen to help you if needed. A walkers route runs by the site and they even provide a separate WC for walkers use. From the site we visited Winchester using park and ride, NT properties The Vyne, Hinton Ampner and Spencer Memorial Chapel (if you like art don’t miss it and the roast at the Carpenters Arms almost opposite was delicious). We visited Highclere Castle, the Watercress Railway, Whitchurch silk mill and Milestones at Basingstoke where we also food shopped at Aldi. On site we saw red kites and lots of light aircraft doing loops and roll overs. The site everything we needed, pitch fees are very reasonable and if we visit the area again we’d happily go back. Thanks Joe
