We are here for 12 nights,so pleased we are, very easy to find, and a lovely warm greeting from Daves son Shaun, like father like son, very warm and friendly. The site is beautifully kept.Very clean toilets and showers, and very good value washing machine and drier. All pitches are hard standing and full service pitches.with free WiFi too.Dave and Shaun are very helpful to make your stay as happy as possible. There is a well stocked coop 5 mins walk, and a caravan spare shop next door.16amp electric too.Best value cl ive ever been to I would highly recommend going,p.s full recycling facilities too.Im sure if you come here you will have a lovely stay.We have a twin axcel caravan and a nissan pick up with a large awning with still plenty of room. They also have lovely fun accommodation for people without caravans.
Wonderful site
An absolute tranquil and wonderful site very good access for motorhomes and caravans, with a local supermarket and garden centre within five minutes’ walk. We were made most welcome by Dave, he is complete one off character, nothing too much trouble, full of knowledge of local areas to visit and see. All pitches are hardstands with own fresh water and waste facilities, free Wi-Fi, toilets, showers and a small charge for using the washing machine. We found this site by accident booked for 2 nights and stayed for 8! Vennlake is now in our top 5 CL’s – Dave we will be back.

Excellent Site
Venn lake CL is one of those hidden gems you find every so often. So well kept with many extras not normally provided for the daily rate charged. As previous reviewers have said Dave, the owner, is a real character and very helpful. Nothing’s too much trouble. With many CLs now outpricing themselves Venn lake is a real bargain for the facilities provided. Well done Dave. Don’t change anything. You have a winning formula.
Our favourite cl
We first came to this site two years ago and now return regularly.
It’s probably the friendliest site we have been to. The owners are fabulous , they really could not do more to help and are really approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I broke one of the toilet cisterns and found Dave, confessed to my sin and he had to go and buy a new one. It was all fixed on the same day .
The site is compact, everything is within close reach and kept clean and tidy, but you are not on top of each other. There is stripey grass , a little fenced off pond and views across the neighbouring field. This year they have improved the hard standings, put in free Wi-Fi and there are also a couple of glamping pods if you wanted family to stay with you who don’t actually camp.
There’s a good little Co-Op nearby and a lovely garden centre with a cafe within easy walking. It’s a very central site with buses down the road and Dartmoor on the doorstep.
We love the place and will continue to return.

Sixth Site This Month and My Favourite 😍
Absolutely loved this site. Feels such a peaceful place, and we were amazed that only a 5 minute walk away was a Co-op supermarket and a fab garden centre with a cafe! Bus stops near here also. David was very welcoming and helpful, and often stopped what he was doing to have a chat with us. We had a fully serviced pitch overlooking the countryside. Pitches were spacious which surprised me after I’d read a review saying they weren’t big enough for a large motorhome. I would have to disagree with that. This is one CL site we will definitely come back to.
If Heineken made Caravan sites.....
This was our very first CL and we are now firm fans of the concept having tried some of the larger sites.
When you find out that your neighbours have been coming back for over 20 years you soon realise you've stumbled on a little gem.
Well placed with good access roads to both Moors it really is a good spot to explore this part of the County.
The peace and tranquility was fabulous as was the view from our window towards a neighbouring ornamental lake.
Huge thanks to David and each of the guests who offered advice and practical help (especially Mike) when our brand new motor-mover failed as we tried to leave for home. A good example of the community spirit created on this site.
Wedding Dash
Booked Vennlake for proximity to a wedding venue we were invited to attend. Boy! What a wonderful gem this site is and nestling in beautiful countryside. Mr Pengelly was very welcoming and made my wife and I feel right at home. I recommend this site for all the star reviews above and the feeling of being made very welcome.
Thank you David for a most memorable stay.
Friendly and welcoming
Dave runs a lovely and tranquil site and is most helpful and friendly. Couldn't do enough really. The site is away from the hustle and bustle of life but close to a decent sized Co-op and a garden centre which serves excellent food in its cafe.
Check out the art gallery immediately behind the site - well worth a look (bowjanglesgallery.co.uk). If we are in Devon again we'd certainly stay at Venn Lake.

Good site for Motorhome
A nice peaceful well run site, the owner’s are very friendly and welcoming. This is our second visit
and our motorhome is 7.5 meters long, the pitches are more than adequate to accommodate a vehicle of this length.
Great Place, Great People
Another 2 weeks spent at this peace of Heaven that is Vennlake. Not the biggest of CLs but perfect for that getting away feeling. More than adequate for all kinds of units, including 2 large camper vans, one with a car trailer that were accommodated with no trouble whatsoever. Its like one big happy family at Vennlake, with "mine host", Dave, ensuring that everyone has everything they need. Perfick !!
