Peaceful and Spacious

This is our second visit to Uplands and it is up there with the best. Colin and Clare are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The pitches are spacious, with water and electricity on each pitch. There are lovely views and the site is very peaceful. Thank you Colin and Clare for a very relaxing break we look forward to visiting again,

Lovely peaceful site

Friendly hosts, provided with personalised information pack on arrival. Very quiet and peaceful site with good views. Good recycling facilities and each pitch has its own water supply. Only criticism is that Pitches 1 and 2 are very close together and no strip of grass to separate them like pitches 4,5 and 6. All hardstandings, but very short, so if you are a longer unit you will need to pitch lengthways as opposed to the 'standard', but this is not an issue. Slightly sloping pitches so chocks required. Approach to site is on a lot of narrow roads with few passing places.

Warm Welcome

This was an excellent site. Immaculately clean facilities and scrupulously looked after. We were greeted warmly and even had tea and biscuits delivered on a tray after arrival. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly family. We will be back as soon as we can. What a peaceful relaxing place to be with wonderful views in a delightful village. Paul and Jan

Top Marks All Round!!

Uplands is nestled in the heart of beautiful Devon countryside with the pitches enjoying lovely views across the valley. Clare and Colin made communication with them very straightforward from booking, directions (ensure you follow them!!) and a warm welcome on arrival. There is a toilet and shower - all looked very clean but given the present conditions, we chose to use our own facilities. The pitches are level but tend to be wide and shallow meaning that unless you have a very short outfit, you will need to pitch sideways. The big bonus is water to every pitch so no filling up of barrels. The other big bonus is an excellent pub - The Exmoor Inn- in walking distance. All in all, a good site and one to which we will return - just hope to have better weather.

Didn’t want to leave

A very warm welcome from Clare and Colin awaits you at this site, we stayed five nights, the showers are spotlessly clean, the grass is cut ready for that early morning dog stroll and there are many walks from the site. It is very peaceful and has far reaching views over the surrounding countryside. One word of warning - follow the directions provided by Clare carefully as there is an horrendous speed bump in South Molton disguised as a zebra crossing and with a very small sign which is easily missed. Well done to Clare and Colin a wonderful site and we will be back.

Wonderful site

Stayed 2 nights and loved it. Made to feel very welcome. The facilities were incredibly well cleaned and sanitised. The Exeter Inn is a couple of minutes away and was gorgeous. Make sure you book - as we couldn’t get a meal on the Friday as it was fully booked (steak night). Look forward to returning ( especially during raspberry season!)

Good site for relaxation

We stayed here in August during mixed weather, as others have mentioned there is a very nice shower room although somewhat temperamental so used our van after that. We were offered tea when we arrived which was a nice touch. there is a community shop in the village and is in a lovely part of Devon. We wanted to visit RHS rosemoor and even on a wet day was well worth the trip, Filleigh is another lovely garden to nearby. The pitches are of a good size terraced down a slope on hard standing the site is surrounded by open farmland & fields and is peaceful. There is a nice pub close by but does not serve food on Sunday evenings and was closed Monday & Tuesday so had no opportunity to visit. We found getting there stressful as the routes take you up steep really narrow lanes we met a white van who was not going to move but overall worth the trouble.

Must be one of the best CL’s !!

We've just returned from our 5th visit to Uplands -always a friendly welcome from Clare Colin and Jordan with a cup of tea and biscuits/cake! much appreciated after a long drive. This is an immaculate site extremely well run with extensive views to the East. Toilet and shower facilities are superb with a library of DVD's for the "not so good weather" days. There is a community shop 2 minutes walk away and a local pub serving food equally close. If you want a peaceful well maintained and run site with excellent views this is for you we cannot recommend it highly enough. We will be back Geoff and Ann Selsey

We'll book again

Lovely well kept site in the northern part of Devon. Super spotlessly clean toilet and shower. A little remote, but this is a bonus! Big pitches with water, and good views from all angles. Easy entrance and directions from owners sent by email which were easy to follow. All fellow campers were returning guests, an accolade in it's self. If you want peace and quiet and thoughtful owners, here it is at Uplands. Enjoy.
