This CL is simply the best (in 25 years of relying on them). Mick, our host, is just extraordinary. We thought we were experienced, yet made a rookie mistake in not reading specifics he'd clearly stated in the book. Our advice to you - DO! There's a reason it's for motorhomes (which is a mega shame, considering the spectacular view and sensational welcome you'll receive), but do make sure you read the small print for clear directions. We didn't - and when we, through our own stupidity, found ourselves in dire straits, our host Mick just went way above and beyond helpful, in chasing us for dozens of miles around wrong turns up mountains, texting reassurance; driving ahead to check for tractors our twin-axle wouldn't be able to by-pass, reversing us into a wonderful space with his Landrover, and supplying additional chocks and every other bit of help he possibly could. I just can't remember ever meeting a more helpful, practical, friendly guy - just determined to help us have a relaxing experience in the most beautiful place imaginable. If all CL owners were like this - in fact if all human beings were like this - the world would be an incredibly wonderful one. Sitting in the sinking sunlight, watching swallows in abundance, red kites and enjoying the sheer tranquility of the Brecon Beacons surrounding us, we chose the perfect CL with the perfect host. Cannot recommend this site enough. If I could double 5 stars to 10, I would. I just wish we were motor-homers now and we'd holiday here every year...
A gem - I almost want to keep it a secret!
A gem of a site & everything you hope for in a CL. Fabulous views, peace & tranquility in spade loads & a real sense that you're in the mountains. Mick is the perfect host, welcoming & accommodating. Walking tracks a plenty from the site for dog walking, trail running, road and mountain biking.
Remember to take green chemicals for your tank but Mick helpfully sells them at a v reasonable price if you need them.
Site would probably be a bit cosy with all 5 pitches full but given that it's only smaller motorhomes and campervans that can access this I can't imagine it would be a big problem as long as everyone respects each others space.
A great example of the spirit and ethos of what you should find in a CL. Definitely on our list next time we're in Brecon.
What a host!
Just back from a week at Tynewydd - apart from terrific weather, this is a great little CL all as advertised and we reckon Mick is the perfect host. From making sure that access up the lane was clear to fixing an electrical cable problem for us, Mick was always on hand to offer any local advice. Got us a table on a busy Friday night at the Three Horseshoes (great food). In fact, we dubbed him Mick The Healer - but that's a long story! Though it's the basic facilities, everything works well, loo was very clean, everything was nearby and the views over the rolling fields were a joy. Bridle path/walk was smack opposite the farm.
We had only booked for 4 nights but extended that to 6...would have been more if domestic arrangements had allowed.
Thanks Mick and Sian - can't wait to go back sometime
Beautiful
A lovely tranquil site with far reaching views to enjoy as the sun sets, clean toilet and shower is on the way. Nice touches such as picnic tables and wifi as no phone signal. Mick the host couldn't be more helpful and extremely flexible and checks in with you. Single track lane to access which we did in our 7m motorhome without issues. Footpath opposite site for easy morning dog walk.
Little gem of a site
We stayed 2 nights on this fantastic site. Mick the owner greeted us & was very friendly. Our pitch had the most amazing views & the sunsets were beautiful. It was lovely watching the cows in the next field with all their calf’s. Lots of birds & wildlife. Spotless toilet on site. We managed to get satellite reception. Great walks from the site & just a lovely atmosphere. Very peaceful. We would def come back. Our dog and also our baby tortoise loved it. Highly recommend.
Not to be missed
From the moment you arrive you are sure you have made the right decision. What a superb gem this 5 van site is. Outstanding views and facilities including a spotless purpose built toilet with hot water. Elsan emptying point for those that use Green Bio chemical, (as by now you should) All grass pitches on a flat area, with plenty of room to spread out.
Gas BBQ provided along with picnic bench table. Electric hookup - great what more can you ask.
All finished off by a wonderfully pleasant host Mr Bushnell, (Mick)
Peaceful and tranquil site
Enjoyed a great two night stay at this wonderful, well kept all-grass site. Picnic tables and a gas barbecue were made available for our use, though we were unable to take advantage of them as we spent most of our time exploring this magical part of Wales and hiking Pen-y-fan. Definitely worth a stay if you enjoy the peace and tranquility small sites offer. Single toilet and wash basin with hot water, very clean and nicely presented.

A brilliant find
We only went away for 1 night as we live an hour away. It felt like we were away for days! A total battery recharge. What a beautiful site, so peaceful with stunning views. We were lucky enough to be Mick’s first and only customers on his new site which was an added bonus. There is one very clean toilet and I believe showers are in the process of being built. Mick gave us a very friendly welcome and told us about the local walks. Sadly we couldn’t try out the pub due to Covid restrictions but we had a meal with a view instead. Highly recommend this site
