A slice of Heaven

We have been here numerous times over the years, and it never fails to delight us. The campsite is situated within the grounds of the Anglesey Transport Museum and cafe. There is a playground for children. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcomed to the site. The pitches are all hard standing and well maintained. Can verify that they are all levelled due to having a vintage folding caravan that need to be levelled in order to be put up correctly. There is a toilet and separate shower situated to the side of the museum. Both were well maintained with supply of toilet paper and soap. The owners are lovely friendly people and have a great team working for them. We were impressed by the young people serving us in the cafe who were polite, friendly and smiley. The food in the cafe is very tasty. At times it can get busy and you may have a little wait, but it’s worth it. Beside you are on holiday so just relax and enjoy looking at the scenery/talk to your fellow companions, rather than trying to rush through your day. The museum is well worth a visit with numerous forms of transport to look at. In particular there is a cracking display of military vehicles. There is a large field on the campsite which is perfect to play games on, when not playing in the playground. Our kids love the freedom and space this site offers them. We love the fact that it is safe and secured in beautiful surroundings. There are plenty of places to visit in the area aside from the excellent Transport Museum on site. We would recommend Stone Science (Dinos and fossils), Plas Newydd (National Trust), Beaumaris Castle, South Stacks and a particular favourite of ours is Newborough Beach which you access via driving through the forest (there is a charge for parking, but plenty of spaces and toilets near the beach). Honestly this place is like a little slice of Heaven, if you need a place to retreat to whilst recharging your batteries. It really is good for one’s health as we always leave feeling totally relaxed.
