Quiet, peaceful and excellent wifi

My wife and I stayed on the overflow field during July. Lovely and quiet and the owner Ilan was most helpful. The overflow field is further to walk to the facilities but on the other hand even more peaceful. I make particular mention of the wifi - its the best I’ve ever come across. Two aerials; one in each area and pretty ast - measured at about 20 mbps. In many ways we should be getting away from wifi on holiday but almost all the attractions we wanted to visit; National Trust sites, CADW sites needed pre booking on line. Even the car park at Pen y Pass on the A5 In Snowdonia now needs pre booking. So being able to sort out each day easily and quickly using the wifi was great.

Excellent site

Just arrived back after a 2 week stay the site was was extremely peaceful and we were lucky enough to be blessed with sunshine throughout most of our stay. The site is extremely well maintained with toilets and shower in excellent order. Access to the site is very easy, pitches are large enough but a little short for some larger vans, our van was stuck out a little but it didn’t matter as there is more than enough room to get round. The owner Llan was an excellent host always on hand, extremely friendly and helpful. And the fresh eggs are very welcome for breakfast. Next time I’m in North Wales I’ll be more than happy to stay again.

A Wonderful Escape

My wife and I made this our second ever stay in our new caravan. Escape life, hide away from the main roads (but not too far as to scare you) and you find peace otherwise known as Ty Newydd. While there you will find Ilan, a wonderful owner who is polite, friendly, discreet but there if you should need him. The Welsh water continued to make us the best cups of tea, the air the beautiful escape, the peace the wonderful escape. Getting on and off the site requires confidence and ability (well it did in our large snails shell) but not a problem. If in doubt, visit, enjoy, take time out and on your return, write a fantastic review.

Friendly site

Quiet, small, friendly site. Quick wifi access for £10 for 7 days. Clean facilities, remember your £1 coin for the shower. Pitches a bit short for a longer van, would recommend contacting first for the corner pitch. Owner friendly. Hard standing relatively level.

Amazing Eggs

A really friendly welcome and we were well looked after from start to finish. Try this beautiful 4 hour walk starting on the Tegid Way from nearby Llandrillo followed by a great pint in the Dudley Arms just next to the starting point (free carpark with space for small motorhome/ campervan) http://www.christophersomerville.co.uk/?p=1281 Most of all, ask ilan if you can buy a box of his hens' eggs which will not disappoint.

Campervan Visit October 2018

Very peaceful and well kept site with welcoming owner. Shortish pitches but relatively level with views across open countryside. Quiet area ideal for walkers, without moving the van although paths are sometimes hard to follow so a good detailed map needed (offered by the owner). Wonderful views from the top of Foel Goch with nobody else to be seen! Facilities clean and serviceable as are the waste disposal points. Phone signal minimal on site. We would be very happy to return.

Peaceful

We stopped here for six nights. When we arrived there were two pitches available with two names on them but neither was ours, we went to the house to check but there was nobody in so we chose one of the pitches which turned out to be ok. Apart from the wi-fi costing an extra £10.00 and the electric tripping out, it's a nice and peaceful site.

Peaceful and welcoming.

A little gem tucked away in the Welsh Countryside. Stayed only one night 27th May and found easily following other instructions on the reviews. No one about when we arrived, but our pitch had our name on a welcoming chalkboard so we knew where to park. We have an 8m Moho, so yes we were up to the fence at the back but it wasnt a problem at all. All 5 pitches were taken for the night but it was spacious and even though our pitch was next to the gate to the shower and toilets , we didnt hear any noise. Managed a local walk in the afternoon before the heavens opened and we had a torrential thunderstorm ...( lovely to watch ) . The extremely heavy rain left parts of nearby Bala with flash floods but this lovely, peaceful site with hardstandings didnt even have a puddle the next morning. We woke to sunshine , birdsong and the clucking a a few wandering hens. Site would be suitable for caravaners with a car to explore further afield as Llangwm has little to offer except peace and quiet .. but we were happy with walking boots.

Top class CL

Fantastic little CL site. This was our 1st CL stay & we really enjoyed it, & have also been back for a 2nd visit. The site is ideal if you want to get away & relax. It is tucked away at the end of the small hamlet of Llangwm. Within driving distance of the Snowdonian National Park & various lakes. I think the signage could do with improving so I hope these directions are helpful. As you drive through the hamlet look out for a tiny bridge next to an old red phone box & bus stop. You will to need to go over the tiny bridge, & past a few houses on the left then through Ty Newydd's gates into the campsite. The CL is attached to the owners' small farm which also stores caravans. It is very clean & well kept & has 5 Hardstanding pitches with EHU & satellite tv connection( sat boxes available for hire). The pitches are wide , but maybe a little short for larger units or motor homes, though you could pitch width ways . The toilet facilities are old but clean. There is also one unisex shower room which is charge at £1 for use. The campsite area includes well trimmed lawned areas & looks onto rolling countryside housing sheep & lambs ( we were there in May ). There are also free range hens nearby & wild rabbits & pheasants roaming free. The campsite backs onto very quiet neighbours, a graveyard. This didn't bother us at all but may bother other campers. Our girls loved the set of swings on site, but tucked behind the nearby houses is another local play area. There is a pan cake restaurant 10-15 mins walk back on the main road, & a family pub serving food approx 10mins drive away also (towards the direction of Corwen ). Look out for the honesty box on the entrance to Llangwm for eggs & jams etc. All in all a lovely site with very friendly owners. Excellent value for money.
