Simply, One of the Best

We chose this site as part of our tour of North Wales this year. Booking couldn't have been easier, all done via email. Finding the site from Dollgellau was easy, and access from the main road is good.  The pitching area is slightly sloping so we had to use blocks, but the grass is cut short and the cuttings collected. There are 3 water & electric points well spaced along the pitching area and the CDP is in the next field, complete with tap for rinsing. There is no normal TV reception, but bring a lead and box  and connect to the Freesat dish at the points on the EHU. There is a shower and toilet next to the farm along with an information room and Myfanwy's cakes, eggs and jams for sale. Myfanwy was very welcoming and advised us of all the best walks from the site. We did a lovely 3 mile circular walk through the forest behind the site. The site is fairly remote, but is just off a main road so public transport is available, the nearest shops etc are at Dollgellau. We liked the town and stopped off at The Royal Ship for a meal, the dog was made welcome too. The views from the site are lovely, and the peace and Quiet was only shattered when the RAF planes flew up the valley. We found lots to do in the area, and hope to return to this site next year. I would point out that although children are welcome, the stream which runs along the site is not fenced off and parents would have to keep a close eye on younger children.
